This is big: all access to Mythos and Fable AI models disabled for everyone outside America. First thoughts: 1. Technology is the ultimate weapon. National sovereignty, national security, all of it is now about technology. 2. Globalization is dead and Bharat must find her own way ahead. We must keep these two ideas in mind. What can our government do right now? Ensure that orgs in India embrace smaller models, both Indian and Chinese open source ones. With a bit of effort, we can make them work. Anyway, why pay money to people who don't even want to sell to you? We must deepen our R&D. Sarvam has been on it and we have been on it but remember that the latest models cost not only huge GPU budgets to train, the GPUs themselves are restricted. So we can't afford the scale of money (of the order of $100+ billion to even get in the game!) and even if we could come up with the money, we can't get all the GPUs. I would not like to ask the government to fund tens of billions of dollars on this anyway - the money has far better uses. Zoho has been pursuing alternative R&D approaches that are far, far less expensive but by its nature cutting edge R&D takes time and we are patient. I am confident we will get there. Any remaining people in India who have delusions about globalization should wake up now.

Deeply devastated by the tragic news from the Gulf of Oman. Three innocent Indian civilian seafarers — Patnala Suresh, Shivanand Chaurasiya, and Aditya Sharma — have lost their lives following a targeted US precision military strike on the commercial oil tanker, M/T Settebello. These men were not combatants. They were civilian mariners doing their jobs, caught in the crossfire of a geopolitical standoff. I strongly support the Government of India's swift and firm response in calling out this unacceptable overreach. By summoning the US Chargé d'Affaires to lodge a strong protest and forcefully raising the matter at the United Nations, New Delhi has made it clear that Indian lives are not acceptable “collateral damage”. While the US enforces its maritime blockade, it must cease and desist from targeting commercial civilian infrastructure and crews. A military strike on an engine room, knowing civilians are on board, is unjustifiable. Global maritime forces have plenty of non-lethal methods to intercept, redirect, or board non-compliant vessels. Resorting to missile strikes that kill civilian crews must stop immediately. Freedom of navigation must apply to the safety of the sailors who power global trade. I hope india firmly demands this of its US interlocutors since practically every ship in those waters carries Indian crew. Our deepest prayers are with the bereaved families. 🚨 UPDATE: 8 people charged in Sex Ring “Underground Bunker” for Paying adults to Rape their Children and Pets — Ages 3-16. Trial delayed as mom pleads guilty and flips on co-defendants In Bibb County, Alabama, eight suspects ran a sex trafficking ring out of an underground bunker where children as young as 3 were drugged, bound, and raped with adults paying to abuse them. Animals were also targeted. Rebecca Brewer and mother of some of the victims, pleaded guilty to sexual torture and nine counts of first-degree kidnapping. As part of the deal she agreed to testify against the other seven defendants. The trial for the remaining suspects has been delayed while the case expands, including a federal investigation into at least one of them. These monsters turned their own kids and pets into victims for profit. How long will it take for every last one of them to face real justice?
