While freelancing for a manufacturing company, they asked if I could help them transition their electronic home appliances to work with IoT. I told them I’d give it a shot.
I spent a few hours reading, learning, and talking to my dear friend, ChatGPT.
I bought an ESP32 and some essentials, and successfully converted a traditional electric cooker into an IoT-powered one.
IoT was something I had no prior experience in well, now I do. I learned about MQTT and how products incorporate IoT in real-world use cases.
Took a break from what I usually build. Looked beyond the tunnel, locked in, and started working on some exciting things.
I freelanced and built a warranty management system and product lifecycle management solution for a manufacturing company.
This wasn’t just about building I visited their factory, and what I saw was truly insane.
They manufacture electric cookers and induction cooktops. It’s a very niche space, but the market opportunity is huge. I saw the numbers, and honestly, I didn’t expect it.
There are so many things out there that we don’t see call it tunnel vision. Sometimes, you really have to step back and look beyond.
I’m also building a startup in the US focused on cost management for construction companies digitizing G702 and G703 workflows for owners, general contractors, and subcontractors.
