Let's check in on Gerald, who is diverting food from starving children.
6:00am - Gerald ate grass. The grass grew on a 40-acre clay slope that has been permanent pasture since 1763 and cannot grow human food. The starving children situation was not affected by the grass.
7:30am - Gerald ate some hedge browsings. Hawthorn and field maple trimmings from the east boundary. Not on any nutrition label. Cannot be processed into human food. Gerald ate them. The hedge now needs less management. Gerald charged nothing.
10:00am - Gerald ate some brewers' grain. This is what is left after barley has been used to make beer. It is spent. The sugars are gone. The protein remains, but in a form that is nutritionally marginal for humans. The options for this material are: Gerald, biogas, or landfill. Gerald ate it and is turning it into beef.
12:00pm - Gerald ate silage. Silage is fermented grass. The grass came from the same field it always comes from. The field cannot grow crops. The silage cannot go to Ethiopia. Silage requires a rumen.
2:00pm - Gerald ate more grass. Gerald has now been eating things that cannot feed humans for eight consecutive hours.
At no point today did Gerald intercept a food supply.
At no point today did Gerald remove calories from the human food system.
At every point today, Gerald was converting materials that are nutritionally useless to humans into beef, B12, zinc, iron, creatine, heme iron, and fat-soluble vitamins.
The beef will go to the abattoir.
The beef will go to the supermarket.
The beef will go to families in Ledbury and Bristol and Wolverhampton.
Gerald is the only system that connects these waste materials to human nutrition.
Gerald does not know about Ethiopia.
Gerald does not know about the global food system.
Gerald is in the south corner.
Gerald is converting the unconvertible.
You're welcome.

@oldladybrain We love travelling in France. There’s always somewhere to park and lots of lovely places to see
English

I went the scenic route today, no motorways, it was lovely, some spectacular views. Second night in France. Quite a pretty town. Just parked in the middle in a free car park, nothing special. I bought a baguette, some artificial additive free pate and a very nice bottle of Minervois. I’ll sleep well tonight.

@Steveontour1 The children and I fed the elephants at London zoo with dog biscuits many years ago. I’m not sure you can now

Just visited an amazing Thai Elephant sanctuary and actually fed some of them in Ko Samui #Thailand has anyone else fed an elephant?

I'm Chesnyy—CKC high-point Rottweiler in rally obedience for the last two years. 🏆🐾
But last season was ruff. Static from the wheelchair tires caused shocks when I heeled, and twice the floor mats caught in the castors and the entire floor started to chase me...I started getting suspicious any time we went in a ring. It didn't feel fun anymore. And there were a lot of other life changes last year so we were already dealing with stress. And trust me, us dogs can smell human stress a mile away and it does affect us.
We took the fall and winter off from trials—no rings, no judges. Just my regular work days, treats, snoozes, and puppy adventures.
Now we're back: we're easing our way in. Instead of going right back to Master level rounds, we're starting back at intermediate AND advanced rounds this weekend. This will make sure neither the human or I get too stressed. And yeah—we're the only wheelchair-handler team around so sometimes between travel, unloading, set-up, and dealing with accessibility challenges she's already running on empty before we hit the ring entrance.
This practice 🎥? Tail doing happy waves, grin locked in. No zaps, no floor monsters—just happy paws and us owning it.
If this makes you smile, hit like or share? Helps us keep rolling. (Bacon still welcome, though.) 💕

@HannahIamthest1 @rospay15 I have to admit I think it’s great fun stringing them. I have never beaten your record though 😂😂😂

I love scam phone calls.
I pretend I’m an old Yorkshire lad, desperate to pay them.
My record’s an hour.
I kept putting them on hold to “check my wallet,” yelling at my cat, and asking if they could speak up because my hearing aid was acting up.
Then I spent 30 minutes reading my card details wrong… real slow.
At one point, I told them my kitchen was on fire
Great fun 😆

@history99917180 Elementary, My dear Watson. As a mere former Woodentop Sgt I would have had to go outside and check for a satellite dish.

It was a month since I last cleaned up this section of mangroves on Stevenson Creek in Clearwater. It's a relentless flow of litter & the daily tides pick it up, move it & push it deep into the mangroves where virtually no one sees the damage.
1 bag of trash+ a tire removed today

@KingBobIIV I agree with you. I find this deeply disturbing and upsetting. I can’t think any human could do this to a baby
English

Just think about this. Just take a moment to really think:
These week, hundreds of people, men and women, are going to argue about whether or not, it should be allowed and legal, to inject fully formed babies with poison, to kill them.
No discussion about better services for unwanted children, better conception to prevent unwanted children, creating a better country so that women dont have to make that choice, or dealing with any reasons as to why they might - just a discussion as to whether it should be legal and allowed, and funded by the tax payer, to literally kill fully formed babies.
Life, has now become so unprecious and redundant, they feel confident to say this, out loud, and vote for it.
Just, please, sit with the thought a while.

@history99917180 I guess you’ve got lots of shrunken and creased washing then 😂😂😂
