Quite an exceptional follow-up to KimiShinu's premiere, starting with its opening which is boarded/directed by Masaho Hori (and solo KA). Its projection of majestic drawings/still shots & bittersweet jump cuts, intermingled w/ ReoNa vocals and Kyouko Yufu supervisions, stand out.
I was smiling all throughout the episode bc like I HAVE BEEN WAITINGYEARS FOR THIS i remember just hoping for this to be localized when I first read the manga and now we got a freaking anime and so far it’s GORGEOUS
Cloudy Beach is very much about legacy and I think that aspect comes out even stronger in Ueno's adaptation, despite being largely transformative again. Especially liked all the Yuki dissociation scenes, it's haunting stuff
i drank two cups of coffee earlier bc I was playing metaphor re fantazio and only stopped to watch Shiboyugi and decided to try to sleep after finishing it but now it’s almost 4 am and Im debating to just fucking play metaphor til i pass out
But lol thinking about it now i feel like it might go the Frozen route aka true love can exist out of romantic love— it can be love for family and friendship but yeah I dont want to expect too much.
And when she asks the witch if she can still find true love and she looks over at Mari??? Mari teling Lara "lets ho home" not knowing how much that one word weighs, and Lara still clinging to that homestyle choco drink LIKE??? NOT SUBTLE AT ALL. We are winning this game methinks
just watched episode 2 of Goodbye, Lara and oh my gosh. When Lara went into the ocean and almost drowned, crying and thinking she doesn't have a home anymore only for Mari to pull her out, run, and take shelter w/ her, and gave her a HOMEstyle choco drink...not even subtle guys
