Same. I joined an omegaverse fest to write a beta x beta fic as kind of a rebellion against the trope. I expected it to do badly, but to my surprise, it did really well and changed my own feelings about writing omegaverse. I stick to non-trad, but I’ve found plenty to like.

The issue isn’t age or parental status. Anyone can enjoy fic. The issue is when fans refuse to recognize boundaries between fic they read as entertainment and the real humans the fic is based on and insist on imposing their fictional world on the real people.
