Saxons have a greater claim for carrying a blade for cultural reasons than any Sikh. Our tribal name literally translates to "sons of the blade", and yet we have been stripped of our birthright to carry one in our own ancestral homeland. Our ancestors are rolling in their graves that their descendants have been turned into slaves (for in their/our culture, being unarmed is a sign of enslavement). Reviving this ancient rite must be one of the outcomes of our tribal awakening, to honour our ancestors. More blades on British streets, not less! Where are we heading as a society? This is exactly what happens when education is overshadowed by religious and political conditioning. A teacher at a DCM school in kotkapura Punjab was simply giving a lecture on women empowerment and mentioned Indira Gandhi as part of the discussion. Instead of understanding the context, a student reacted by calling her a killer and attacker, and the matter was unnecessarily escalated into a controversy with even a police complaint. This is not empowerment, not education, and definitely not progress. It is slowly pushing children towards becoming emotionally reactive, intolerant, and anti-social at a very young age. Parents and society need to understand that classrooms should remain places of learning, discussion, and open thinking not battlegrounds for ideological fights.

When you turn a celebrity into the centre of a movement to the point where logic disappears and the entire campaign becomes a spectacle, you end up destroying the years of hard work being done on the ground by ordinary people. And now, because of recent actions and behaviour, many who once stayed silent are starting to object openly. Sometimes the biggest damage to a cause comes from within. Know you have damaged the movement and pushed people away.. and thats on you.

They rarely report back to the Sikh community, hold no elections, and often lack even the most basic institutional roots or history. Most don’t own a building, yet freely appropriate the decades of seva, legitimacy and grassroots work built by Gurdwaras and the Sangat. Representation without accountability is not representation — it is networking dressed up as leadership.
