Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) questioned U.S. military officials after a CBS News report that Pakistan may be allowing Iranian military aircraft to use its airfields, potentially shielding them from U.S. strikes. Graham said if true, it raises doubts about Pakistan’s role as a mediator, adding, “No wonder this damn thing is going nowhere.”
The U.S. officials, who all spoke only under condition of anonymity to discuss national security issues, told CBS News that days after President Trump announced the ceasefire with Iran in early April, Tehran sent multiple aircraft to Pakistan Air Force Base Nur Khan, a strategically important military installation located just outside the Pakistani garrison city of Rawalpindi. cbsn.ws/3PfY6Ow
