The promoter complained saying they didn’t actually buy a Boiler Room license, if that’s true then I was wrong on that part. But to me, it doesn’t change the fact that they’re using a big name for their own profit while taking advantage of local underground artists who don’t have much power. Even if the promoter say it’s disappointing because they thought we were friends, I’d rather just stay true to how I feel.

I feel like they’re bringing division into Tokyo and creating an atmosphere at the scene where people can’t really speak their minds freely.

If the organizers claim they’re working for the Japanese scene, they should find a way to do it without being complicit in the killing in Gaza.

Haven’t tweeted in a while, but the statement from Boiler Room Tokyo’s production house made me really wanna speak up.

We don’t need a one-off show under Boiler Room’s shiny campaign to validate us. If we don’t back Asian scenes, no one else will. Local scene won’t change overnight just bc BR touches down. But once a symbol of genocide lights up behind us, the spirit of underground is no longer.
