I’ve worked on olfactory ethics in relation to the horror genre, but not within the horror genre. I’m interested in how horror capitalises on emotional ambivalence: fear/excitement, disgust/intrigue and how this applies to olfactory literature, which often evokes similar states.

I need to know if @DrAllyLouks has worked on olfactory ethics in the horror genre

@DrAllyLouks semi-related (idk if you're checking replies or have talked abt this previously), but do u know anything abt the relationship between smell and disease? during thesis fieldwork, my advisor's kid caught dengue and she swore she could smell it on her breath. Still think abt that.

This will likely come as a surprise to some, but there is no evidence to suggest that humans can detect pheromones like other animals can. We can be attracted to some based on their smell, but that’s not due to our having compatible pheromones.
Joanna Maverick@JoannaMaverick

@DrAllyLouks 🌞 If you ever have the time, can you please tell us something about pheromones? Is it possible to create pheromones artificially? 🤔

The governor of a suburban state gives a helpful view into the mind of Americans. They view cities as existing solely for the benefit of suburbanites and the ability to subject the residents of cities to unlimited harms (noise, pollution, injury) as their God given right.

New York’s plan to fix congestion — is to give more of it to children in Jersey, by sending more smog into our homes and neighborhoods. This Sunday, we will see just how much New York and @MTA cares about our kids, Jersey families, and our environment.
