@EmileCole93 Club System - there’s so much untapped potential with RL Clubs/Ranks. Making them larger, rewards, club queue, titles 👀it’ll also add some validity to 4v4 or even a 5v5 mode of playing it gives rewards for your club that everyone could see with a leaderboard.

There’s a lot of conversation about whether you will need to open Fortnite to play rocket league. Which I think that’s what they have been leaning towards. I’m pretty indifferent to the change. Since it’s already been done with games like Call of Duty where to play Warzone, you need to open a COD Launcher whether you want to play zombies, multiplayer or the battle royal. As long as it’s as simple as opening Fortnite and then selecting Rocket League. I don’t really mind.

@NoxesRL My biggest concern is when you said "Game will 100% be ported into Fortnite", which, if true, assuming that it WON'T be a standalone game, then you HAVE to install Fortnite to get Rocket League. But, if they decide standalone AND Fortnite, you can still download it on its own.

UE6 and what it means for the future of Rocket League. (Some theories) I’ll also encourage you to go through some topics in this tweet that you find interesting and share your thoughts! Really interested to hear what you guys think about everything. Release Date late 2028 - early 2029: If we were getting it next season they would have put a release date in the trailer. 2028 season will be more info with a release date and start of 2029 will be when it’s released for everyone to play. This is the first game being officially announced with the new engine. So 27-28 will be used to get everything ready as we get into the next generation of games. New Opportunities: RL has been a relatively small community for a while now. But these next few years while we wait for UE6 are going to be extremely crucial for us as a community. New businesses and organizations are going to look to be part of the new game. Views are going to be at an all time high with new people wanting to see what all the hype is about. So let’s make sure we use this momentum to truly make RL one of the greatest games of all time. Game will 100% be ported to Fortnite: We already knew that this was happening for a while now. Fortnite will also be seeing massive changes as that game moves over to the new engine, but I also think this could mean that we get a client similar to the Riot Client. This also means the game won’t be supported on steam anymore. Trading is not coming back: There just isn’t a world they bring it back when it’s shown that RL will be just as successful with or without trading. + removing trading of course means Epic generates more revenue with people having to buy credits to get the items they want. CONTENTTTTT: This is probably the thing I’m most excited for as a big part why there was so little done to this game is because it’s so hard to build anything on an engine that is 20 years out dated. UE3 (what RL is on) officially launched in 2006, UE4 released in 2014 and Rocket League released in 2015. You can only imagine the resources it takes to add new assets, new hit boxes, maps, or anything on something that was made so long ago. Let alone the amount of money it takes to add anything new, that EPIC doesn’t deem worth it if there current formula is working. RLCS and Competitive: The game is still going to play exactly how it does now, I saw a lot of people worried that they are going to essentially have to learn the game again which just isn’t true. Imagine going for SARBC to RL. Same game with just a bit of getting used to. I do believe there’s going to be a drastic increase of new talent as a lot of older players retire with the change. But I’m extremely excited to see this new generation of talents. But with UE6 also comes a new MMR system, which is much needed at this point. Closing thoughts: Today honestly gave me so much nostalgia to when I first picked up and played RL. All the people reacting to the announcement, news articles that have never once talked about RL before getting hundreds of thousands of impressions, logging onto RL after worlds to see nearly 900,000 people online at once. Sorry if this came off as a rant or anything but I’m genuinely so happy that RL is finally getting some love. Also I wanted to add how important that KC win was today. Some people may not of known but the French President was watching RLCS today. In his eyes, he has seen what it means to be a fan of esports, and how much it means to fans all over the world. KC, you’ve done more today for the esport world than you could ever imagine. Congratulations on your win, and seriously what a performance. 🇫🇷

@NoxesRL 2 or 3 years? Dude it's going to be around a year, UE5 is already at 5.8 and UE6 engineers already worked on it to bring the game to it otherwise we wouldn't see the teaser as it's captured in-game

So many people piggybacking this post to doomerpost about esports. NBA annual salaries in the early days hovered around 4-5k annually, they stayed flat until the ABA merger in the 70s before the league hit its stride. NHL salaries were flat, exploded, then they lost an entire season in 2004 from a lockout which resulted in a 39 mil salary cap that has taken 20 years to grow to where it is today. MLS in the 90s had paltry salaries and the league almost closed in the early 2000s with multiple teams folding. All 3 of these leagues followed the same trend: early speculative investment —> reality check —-> sustainable growth Yes, if you are a player, broadcast talent, etc. in the current environment you should not be chasing esports as an answer to a career and hedging your bets through education/trade school. It also helps to get some AI or digital career certs. The doomposting about esports as a concept is wild though. This has happened with most major sports, and esports is correcting much faster than those sports have in the past. Esports is not going to disappear. It’s going to be a tough environment to work in while it solves itself. Some regions will adopt and scale faster than others obviously. We are in the early years, there were early winners (players, org founders etc.) who made mad money off of these speculative investments, and many are still chasing this that don’t understand the whole picture, but as esports specific problems get worked through (IP usage, lack of ticket revenue for orgs, lack of media rights), you will see the space start to stabilize. We are literally just now starting to untangle franchising.

@clerkie Agreed, I see people everyday want a business to take a net loss year by year on expenses that make no sense. These things take an ungodly amount of time to get right. But it's getting worked on everyday, so that being a professional in this space isn't just a pipe dream.
