We saw a complete disruption in healthcare. That the total number of abortions increased is important because some unmet need was addressed AND also the reality is that thousands of lives were upended in the pursuit of essential healthcare.
Society of Family Planning@SocietyFP

"A year after SCOTUS overturned Roe v. Wade, abortion access in the US plummeted to zero in some states while increasing to meet the acute need in others, leading to a complete disruption in the healthcare system and people’s lives." - @UshmaU societyfp.org/research/wecou…

Amanda nearly died after being denied abortion care in Texas. And it's happening around the country: Bans on abortion are putting our lives at risk. Thank you Amanda for sharing your story. This should have never happened to you. @ReproRights

No one should be denied access to safe and legal abortion care. Abortion is healthcare. Abortion is a right. And we will fight to protect it. IG 📷: gdm.photographs

Abortion rights won last night in five states. Voters understand that talking about abortion IS talking about the economy. It IS pro-worker. It IS pro-economic justice. It is the pundit class who doesn't get it. The people do. Professional pundits should remember this in 2 years

Abortion is on the ballot this November, even here in Massachusetts. We cannot afford to have a Trump-backed, anti-abortion leader in the Governor’s Office. Vote Maura Healey to be the next Governor of Massachusetts.

Reminder that overturning #Roe was a direct attack on women’s equality and the equal rights of all pregnant people. Going to use my vote to support Pro-Choice legislators this year - happy #WomensEqualityDay #AbortionIsHealthcare

So excited to see this legislative win! Thankful for all the MA legislators and advocacy leaders (@reproequitynow) that elevated this issue, and that continue to lead the country in providing abortion access 👏👏👏

Medication abortion is about to become a whole lot more accessible for MA college students! The reproductive health care bill that was signed into law last month requires public colleges to offer medication abortion where students are—on campus.boston.com/news/local-new…

🚨🚨🚨 Breaking: @PattyMurray just introduced a bold and historic federal funding bill that not only eliminates the discriminatory Hyde Amendment but includes a first-of-its kind federal abortion fund! This is the leadership we need in this moment.

It has been 32 days since Roe v. Wade was overturned. Between the budget, the economic development bill, and the reproductive freedom bill set to be sent to the Governor today, the Massachusetts legislature has responded forcefully. A thread on Massachusetts' historic action.

There are over 120,000 children eligible for adoption in the United States right now and more than 400,000 in the foster care system. So, when I see pics of these conservative married couples holding a sign that says “Don’t abort — we’ll adopt your baby”… I just don’t buy it.
