@PennePipstop @Vitality_UK I agree - Carluccio's wasn't that great (very few restaurants, variation in quality) but it was at least a reward in the conventional sense.

@Vitality_UK It’s a worse deal than the current deal with Carluccios, where it’s free without having to spend anything.

@Vitality_UK am I right in thinking that with the new 4 week streak reward with PizzaExpress, you will have to buy a meal to get one free with your reward voucher? It hardly seems fair to have to pay out to get something in return, when it’s supposed to be a reward.

Caen Hill Locks last week - the boat going up had a crew of one - she'd started at 8am and was on target to complete the ascent around 1pm 😮

@TweedyOutdoors I stayed in Dorking in October 2024 for some walking in the area, part of which you covered towards the end of this one. The White Horse (owned by the same people as the White Hart in Lewes) had Surrey Hills Shere Drop and it was absolutely superb 🍻👍

A stroll from Holmwood to Dorking in Surrey, through the woods, on a pleasant (almost) spring day, stopping off en route to cook pappardelle with broad beans. youtube.com/watch?v=SGkcaU…

@fugueur I've walked Otford to Eynsford many times over the years, alas not recently, so it was very good to see this one John👍 - I loved the shot of you walking towards Shoreham with the cross up on the hillside visible in the distance 😀

@fugueur I really enjoyed this John, but every time I think of visiting there I look at the train ticket situation and give up. Railways made difficult 😕

@fugueur She mentioned the Beer House, and it's called that for good reason - it used to be one of those houses that would serve beer from a front room and/or a hatch 🍺

@fugueur Beggar Hill is a favourite walk just on its own. During a lockdown, a lady behind the counter in the card shop in the high street told me all about how she used to live right at the end, and had to walk all the way to school in Ingatestone and back every day, all weathers😲

@fugueur For example if you look on FP7 which is just further up, the defect has a photograph attached showing the problem.

@fugueur I shall investigate and let you know - that area has been confusing in the past as there are two footpaths, one is now St Peter's Way, and the other one used to be St Peter's Way - but the way markers weren't removed 🤣

This is the Canadian Premier League final — a bicycle kick goal in the middle of a blizzard. You literally can’t get more Canadian than this.

Stop 3 is @porterhousebars. Cellar bar with many, many rooms offering 3 cask and 17 taps. Unfortunately the Porterhouse beers are now brewed at either Portobello or Kinnegar but at least the pump clip makes it clear.

@fugueur I'm looking forward to watching this one, I'm still on the New River 😆. I walked this section of the Thames in the opposite direction earlier this year on the way back from the Wey Navigation - another fabulous canal and river walk.
