@kevano__ If I don't have to conform to it, then it's not God's intended meaning of the text.
English

@nraleighsr @lutheranpeasant Both James and Romans are true, they both make exclusivist statements, they both aren't talking about a specific type of work, and they both don't contradict. I think this article explains it pretty well.

@pathfinderchron @sola_chad Why are you assuming he was created?
English

@DrShayPhD The reason this does not work is that the way it actually plays out is that each person's individual interpretation of Scripture becomes the final say.
English

Sola Scriptura means the Bible gets the final say. Not a church, not a pastor, not tradition, not some council from centuries ago. If it doesn’t line up with Scripture, it doesn’t make the cut. It is as simple as this: The Bible is the testing mechanism for EVERYTHING a Christian believes and how a Christian live, and everything else has to answer to it, and not the other way around.

@bgetsbetter @darwintojesus Care to elaborate? If an expansion began, something caused the expansion.
English

@nraleighsr @darwintojesus No it's not. Not necessarily.
We know of no possible condition approximating the "nothing" philosophers use to talk about God or necessary beings.
English

@lutheranpeasant Or maybe both texts are true and but the works referred to aren’t the same kind of works…? Otherwise they would contradict each other.
English

@nraleighsr Papists: if I read once in James that I am saved by faith and works, I use that to override all of Paul and the Gospel of John.
So much smarter than those ignorant prots.
English

@bgetsbetter @darwintojesus Yes, that would be a beginning, hence the word “began.”
English

@nraleighsr @darwintojesus No. It just implies it began expanding.
English

@bgetsbetter @darwintojesus The universe began expanding at some point. Which implies a beginning. And yes we do know this.
English

@SallyMayweather Try 50mil unborn children. Our nation is collectively committing suicide.
English

@bgetsbetter @darwintojesus What do you mean? We know the cosmos is not eternal; it had a beginning.
English

@bgetsbetter @darwintojesus Except if something made the thing that made the universe, and something made that thing, and something made that thing…then you’ve got an infinite regress of causes. Unless there was an infinite cause. That makes more sense than an infinite regress of causes.
English

@darwintojesus I mean, it's the same philosophical question as what made the observable universe. 🤷🏻♂️
English

@PhantomGWOT Would you call it “forcible” if their parents/guardians wanted them baptized?
English

@nraleighsr Go find a disabled person to forcibly baptize if you want to prove your point.
English

@YeshuaisSavior @SilverGill47 @rankheresy You accused…Christians…of being judgmental…which is a judgement…that you’re making. Just pointing it out.
English

@nraleighsr @SilverGill47 @rankheresy Alright it appears this argument is above your level of understanding or you are just being intentionally obtuse
English

@IndianaBrunner So when LGBT activists use Scripture to argue that Jesus never condemned homosexuality, are they using “scripture alone” too? And what do you even mean by “scripture alone?”
English

@YeshuaisSavior @SilverGill47 @rankheresy You made a judgement about Christians being judgmental. It was a silly statement.
English

@nraleighsr @SilverGill47 @rankheresy Didn't say they deserve hell or punishment
If you think bad things should go to hell then that's your fault
