Eighteen. My recovery is an adult today. Eighteen years sober. Wild. Reflecting this morning and thinking about the journey and what I’ve been doing this weekend - running kids around, doing laundry and cleaning up the yard, making meals for kids that they will eat on their own timetable - and I realize, this is what meaningful recovery is about. I wouldn’t have any of those things without my sobriety. And whether I was thinking about it consciously or not when I was in treatment, I realize now that this is the life I was craving and hoping for. Normalcy. Presence. Love shown in a myriad of ways (sometimes weird or even frustrating ways from the kids🙂). They say the opposite of addiction is community, and boy am I grateful for mine. So many of you continue to show up for me when I need it the most, including and most importantly when I don’t even know I need it. So this morning, I’m celebrating my recovery by making waffles for the kids that will probably get cold because they’re busy with other things. I’m celebrating by tidying up the house and by doing another load of laundry. And I’m celebrating by drinking lukewarm coffee out of this mug because I left it somewhere in the house when I was doing something else and forgot about it. And that’s exactly what I always wanted. Normalcy, presence, and love. Grateful. Humbled. Emotional. And here for all of it, fully leaning into it, because of my recovery. Eighteen years, one day at a time.

No past is too stained for His love. 🙏

South-end neighborhoods had a chance to show their generosity during the GGFYP Orange Bag event. They delivered! ❤ We picked up 8 large bags of food and hygiene products, plus a 50lb bag of rice that can feed 500 people. Thank you to the Orange Bag donors and organizers! 🥫

UPDATE: He did it! Tests passed, GED secured. ✅ Next up is finding a job. He has more options than ever before. So proud of this gentleman and grateful for those who are providing the support he needs. More to come!

We have something to smile about today. Leona is moving into St. Anne's! 🏘 She worked as a caretaker, but couldn't do the work anymore due to her physical health. Now she is set up in her own facility in Grand Forks where family can visit. Thank you, donors and volunteers! ❤🙏

Nearly 40,000 pounds of food donated to help local families. Incredible. Thank you @UNDsports, @SimplotCompany, UND athletes, and fans. ❤️ We'll take it from here and get this food to our neighbors in need.

Oh, how we long for summer weather! 🌞 When it does finally arrive, it will be so nice to have this new water fountain to replace our old, broken one. Thank you to the Citizen's Assistance Program, who provided this as well as new kitchen and maintenance tools through a grant!

The food boxes are full this week! 🍗🌽🍚 Each one has about 50 lbs of meat, produce, and dry goods for families in need. Nearly all of it is donated by local businesses and people who want to help. ❤ The pantry is open until 4 pm today! If you need a food box, stop by door #2.
