So, special thanks to @MarginsInc for running this show with us and bringing this film back to Atlanta. 🌞🙂

Like I said, it's a film about guys in deep. The rest - they go to a workshop and express themselves in their own words. You can really feel what they felt in real time. One or two parts are funny. It's a documentary, but it's also a real movie.

It's blacker than Russian vodka but it's an American movie. You could detach yourself and watch it from a distance. You could show this to anyone of any political affiliation and they'd start a conversation with you.

But you can also see why this movie isn't going to Hollywood. There are no heroic characters, many people talk but very few have answers. It shows the full "bipartisan" conversation. It's grim enough that it could withstand your misery loving grandparents.

It's definitely not a happy go lucky movie. It's not a Hollywood type movie with happy endings. In Their Shoes is about four guys who are in deep shit. They're all people you root for. They tell you right away that they don't all get out.

Is "In Their Shoes" a good movie? All of the promotion talked about it being thought provoking, but would you actually watch it in your free time. It's hard to say too much about it, because the movie is not VERY long at an hour and ten minutes.

4/ It's not a preaching movie - you should be able to watch this with any adult and being able to share your own experiences. And hopefully, they're experiences that ground your conversations in the right directions.

3/ After you see the film, you'll be able to talk back and share what you've learned with other people who are discovering "In Their Shoes" for the first time. There's a perpetuating cycle - underfunding leading to under-resourced people who in turn lack basic support systems.

2/ But you'll also find, at the forefront, the ideas and humanity of the folks returning to society. There's more outside the screen. You're also going to interact with a really holistic view of how Atlanta thinks about these issues as we experience them here.

1/ We want people to leave "In Their Shoes" with at least the context for a conversation. As you go to this screening. You'll find, in a brief and effective way, the ideas of all of the "stakeholder" factions in public affairs.

2/ The film mirrors the lives of four men, navigating through the prison system. By immersing ourselves in their stories, we're shedding light on the harsh reality they face.
