Current gfs has a sharp cutoff. That run would not be the best for snow lovers at the beach. It would favor our area. Still very wild. The NW trend is inevitable

Before anyone asks, I don't really know the coldest road game in @packfootball history, though in September 1961 State, after leaving 95-degree Raleigh, arrived in Laramie, Wyoming, for its season opener against the Cowboys. They arrived for their pregame walk-through on Friday with five inches of snow on the ground. It was cleared before kickoff the next day and game-time temperature was about 40 degrees. The wind was howling, fittingly enough, and State sophomore kicker Dave Houtz booted a wind-aided 83-yard punt on his career attempt, which is still the school record. His next punt was into the wind, netting 1 yard. That's a 42-yard average on two career kicks. The coldest postseason game? Easily the 1963 Liberty Bowl, played at 105,000-seat Municipal Stadium in Philadelphia. Kickoff temperature was 19 degrees, with sustained winds of 17 miles per hour. (I'll have to let @nsj compute the wind-chill factor, as I don't believe in that particular weather metric.) State lost to Mississippi State 16-12 in the frigid conditions in front of 8,700 spectators. Two years later, the Liberty Bowl moved to Memphis.

According to @nsj up on the Carter-Finley rooftop, official temperature at kickoff was 37 degrees, the second #ColdestKickoff for a home game in @PackFootball history.

@nsj @PackFootball I'm PO'ed that this game didn't get something like that. It would look good with the red end zones.

Since the @PackFootball-@UNCFootball rivalry moved to the end of the season in 2006, it's not surprising the game has produced three of the #ColdestKickoffs in Carter-Finley Stadium history. Tonight's game could make the top five of the Wolfpack's 15 coldest, @nsj predicts, with game-time temp projected between 32 to 38 degrees. Dress warmly, tailgaters and football fans. @then_podcast @TheNCSportsNet

I've seen a man die and come back to life in the middle of a football game. I've seen Michael Jordan miss a dunk on a clean breakaway at the Smith Center. I've seen Greg Norman blow a 6-stroke on Sunday to lose the Masters. I've seen a football game in the middle of a raging hurricane. But I haven't seen anything quite like the fourth quarter of this game.

What?!? Is this real? While this sounds insane - it means that SFN will be traveling to Brazil! LFG! Don't forget about the new reliance on TV ratings for $$ payout. There will be significant national interest in anyone playing the first ever game in Brazil. $$

NC State is set to play Virginia in Brazil next season, a source confirmed to TheWolfpacker.com. It will mark the first-ever international game in Wolfpack football history. More here: on3.com/teams/nc-state…

Periodic reminder: A “ground stop” for XYZ airport means traffic destined to fly to XYZ is being held on the ground at their points of origin, not that anything has “stopped” at XYZ. So, a ground stop for CLT means planes at *other airports* are being held up.

My favorite thing is the players being aware of the chick-fil-a promotion where you get a free sandwich if an opponent misses both FTs inside 8 minutes. So they hype up the crowd even more.
