@Lee_Raa_Tuu 1st of all there’s no such thing of stay home until lobola is fully paid because in our tradition we don’t finish to lobola at one go, since law recognised such, after that process they are in community of property but they don’t live together, it’s the family loss.

We paid lobola on behalf of our brother on Sunday. They wanted R80 000 but we only had R60 000. We agreed that we will pay the remaining R20 000 within the next three months. It was also agreed that our bride will remain at her home until lobola is fully paid.Unfortunately our brother got involved in a car accident and died. From a cultural point of view, what must happen to the money we paid❓ Must it be refunded back to us or what❓

But look at the basic cars we have in SA ranging from 400k to 3milion to get a standard car.
