Chronic wounds – A new hope: An international team of scientists from #NTUsg and the University of Geneva (@unige_en) has discovered a new way to treat chronic wounds caused by antibiotic-resistant bacteria. They found that a common microbe in chronic wounds produces hydrogen peroxide, which stresses skin cells and prevents them from closing the wound. Instead of killing the bacteria with antibiotics, the team neutralised the hydrogen peroxide using catalase, an antioxidant that restored healing. Published in @ScienceAdvances, the study could lead to antioxidant-based therapies for chronic wounds like diabetic foot ulcers. #NTUsgResearch @ntusbs @SCELSE_SG @ScienceNTU

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Associate Professor Su I-Hsin on 3 October 2025. She was an inspiring educator and dedicated researcher whose kindness and professionalism touched the lives of many colleagues and students.
