I just wrote a breakdown of my recent nuclear physics paper over on my Substack. We smashed atoms together to create a superheated, microscopic drop of nuclear matter. To survive, must cool down, "sweating" subatomic particles. (1/2)

@EtherDais Of course! I don't think is a particularly controversial statement. You can find similar statements in the long-range plan for nuclear science of both US and European Research Council.

From the paper: "...It is extremely challenging to study nuclear reactions using state-of-the-art nuclear structure information in a consistent framework. The complexity of the dynamical processes happening during a scattering process often forces the use of separate and inconsistent models of structure and reaction, frequently relying on phenomenological optical potentials." Allow me to repeat for emphasis: "forces the use of separate and inconsistent models" You don't even need to believe me, here's a legit nuclear physicist tellin' you the thing

I can't believe it. I got the FIFA prize in physics.

We just published a new paper about a totally new method to compute neutron scattering. The problem is deceptively simple: what happens when you throw a neutron against an atomic nucleus? If we throw many neutrons, how many will bounce off without exchanging energy? (1/n, n=9)

PS: it was also fun to make it to the editorial selection of physical review C, the main journal for nuclear physics. It never happened to me before and it was like destiny for it to happen now.
