@JasonPaulMosher @TOEwithCurt These aren’t proofs of these results, rather reinterpretation in the new paradigm where they still continue to make sense. This is what you’d expect of a unifying theory. The results and equations should change unless they were wrong.

Ginestra Bianconi thinks gravity can be derived from entropy — and that gravity itself is fundamentally anti-reductionistic, since it's about geometry rather than isolated particle interactions. In this episode, the network-topologist-turned-gravity-theorist explains her "Gravity from Entropy" action, which treats matter and geometry symmetrically through a geometric quantum relative entropy (not the horizon entropy of Verlinde or Jacobson). She details why it reduces to Einstein's equations at low energy while predicting a dynamical, always-positive dark energy term (the "G field"), how it may avoid black hole singularities and reproduce the area law without invoking holography, and why she believes understanding the brain may be harder than understanding quantum gravity. We close with her advice for young researchers. I hope you enjoy.

🚨: Did the Universe Ever Really Begin—or Is It Reborn Again and Again? What if the Big Bang wasn’t the beginning of everything? What if our universe is just the latest in a never-ending cycle of cosmic rebirth? Scientists call this mind-bending idea the Big Bounce Theory. According to this theory, the universe doesn’t just expand and drift forever. One day, gravity could pull everything back together, causing space itself to shrink and the cosmos to collapse. But here’s the twist: instead of ending in a point of infinite destruction, something incredible happens—the universe bounces back. A new expansion begins, stars and galaxies form again, and life can emerge once more. Imagine a cosmos that never dies, a universe that keeps restarting itself over and over, each cycle hiding secrets from the one before. Some scientists even think tiny traces from previous universes might still be detectable, hidden in the faint glow of cosmic radiation. Could our universe hold memories of what came before? The Big Bounce flips everything we thought we knew about beginnings and endings. Instead of a single birth, the universe might be eternal—dying, bouncing, and living again in a cosmic rhythm beyond human imagination. The real question is… what if we’re not the first universe? And what if we won’t be the last?

@doescience An old theory. My unified theory has a better explanation - matter cannot exist within a black hole (it is ripped apart) and hence no electron orbits can exist to create light solitons. I.e., light does not exist inside a black hole at all.

Why can't objects escape black holes? An object would have to move faster than the speed of light to escape the gravitational pull at a black hole's surface, but special relativity tells us that isn't possible. Learn more with DOE Explains...Relativity: energy.gov/science/doe-ex…
