@ferocitq A fun circular influence is that the original Diablo was more or less a streamlined, real time version of the traditional roguelike Angband, and then years later we get Tales of Maj'Eyal, a traditional roguelike taking heavy inspiration from Diablo

Pet peeve of mine is seeing some of the favorite video games trend and looking at the “turn your brain off” section and seeing a game just that focuses on its gameplay there and not a guilty pleasure game

Pallegina joining made such a massive difference in the effectiveness of my party. Not only did I decide to only use premade companions so I didn't have a sixth party member until now, but big burst damage was something I was missing, so a paladin was really good.

Had a big battle on a staircase in Pillars which was awkward, not because of the actual fight (which while large went very smoothly), but because the way the game determines what sound effects you hear got all fucky so it was mostly in silence outside of the music

Defiance Bay in Pillars has just so much stuff to do. I've been playing 4.5hrs and there's two whole areas I haven't even touched yet.

The universe is punishing me because just after sending this my scroll wheel decided to stop functioning. Now I gotta do things like figure out what DPI setting I actually use rather than just "The pink one"

I like that basically everything that scrolls in Pillars of Eternity works with clicking and dragging because my mouse's scroll wheel, while somewhat functioning, is really messed up and I don't want to get a new mouse because I can't find the same kind and change is scary.

Because of winter lasting so long here (basically just ended), I forgot that up north there's a bunch of times during the year my nose will just be permanently stuffed. Only thing I'm missing about Georgia right now.

@Alison_is_lost Pirate Warriors 3 is a really good one, though the PC port is pretty bad so if that's your only option it's harder to recommend.

I need to play more musou games because I keep hearing from actual fans of the genre that Drakengard is genuinely a competent musou game and not "intentionally bad" or something. It is intentionally maddening, yes, but it doesn't play bad whatsoever and is well made

You can really see Alan Cumming get better at doing an American accent on The Good Wife as time goes on. For the couple episodes he's in in season 1 the accent's a mess, in season 2 it gets notably better but the Scottish accent still breaks through, by season 3 he's got it down

What feels like the most unrealistic thing in The Good Wife is how much everyone cares about the state's attorney. Obviously it's a lawyer show, so the important characters would care, but seemingly everyone in Chicago is decently invested in who's filling the position.
