When bulk editing products/variations, would you expect the image field to replace all images for each product, or append the new images to the existing set for each product?

I'm looking to connect with a small panel of users to join a session where we explore the new variations concepts, as well as the editing/bulk editing experience, in order to gather feedback. If you are a frequent user of variations in @WooCommerce and have feedback to give, please let me know if you'd be willing to join!
James Kemp@jamesckemp

I really like where this prototype for @WooCommerce variations is heading! Here's a 5 mins walkthrough of how it works, with a question for you at the end about global/local attributes. Let me know your thoughts, try the prototype yourself, give feedback via the form. Appreciate it! #radicalspeedmonth

I'm experimenting with a possible direction for @WooCommerce menu structure. This modifies how @WordPress' main nav works, introducing an additional layer of nesting. Handles Woo extensions, allows for other plugins to still nest inside the Woo area, and also moves Orders to the top of the Woo area. Please check it out, try it in Playground (link in PR), and let me know what you think of this direction! github.com/woocommerce/wo…

I think it'll be hard to choose JUST 3 things 😅 Make sure you get your feedback heard though. How can the order detail page be improved? What would make it a better experience for merchants?
Design at Woo@designatwoo

Hi! I'm @Janahabanana , product designer on WooCommerce. Working on the Order detail page right now and want to hear from the people who actually use it. What are the top 3 things you'd change about it? Reply below, or drop it in the form: forms.gle/AfJSHqGzmayAnk…

I'm doubling down on the variations project and pausing the Product Add-Ons work for now. This means I'll have twice as much time to work on and ship this thing! I'm hoping to get some prototypes out for this so you all can have a play with it and give some feedback. Still so much to figure out, but loving how it's shaping up right now. Tell me, what are you main frustrations or wants with the current variation creation/editing experience? #radicalspeedmonth

You might have heard of Radical Speed Month at @automattic? It's a new experiment, similar to a hackathon, where we team up in pairs and work closely together on something that we want to ship by the end of the month. I took this as an opportunity to work on two things that I feel are very important. (Starting now that I'm back from #CheckoutSummit!) First thing is the way that users create and manage variations in @WooCommerce. For this project I've teamed up with Poli, one of our very talented designers. Very excited with where it's going. For years, the variation experience within WooCommerce has been far from ideal. As a user, you have to click between multiple tabs, reload the page, deal with attributes, generate variations in batches of 50. Once those variations are created, you still have the hassle of multi-page navigation, depending on how many variations you have. Really just an experience that's very much lacking. Our project aims to massively simplify this process without affecting the underlying data, so anyone can use the new process with the variations they already have. The goal is to bring it all into one tab, the variations tab, and make the creation and editing experience much more streamlined, with far fewer clicks to actually create and manage variations. Conceptual design exploration attached. Additionally, I'm working with @PanosSynetos on a second project for our Product Add-Ons plugin, with the goal to dramatically improve the ratings of that plugin in the marketplace. Some of the ways we plan to do this are by looking at long-standing feature requests like conditional logic, as well as the reviews that have come in, general performance, and quality of life improvements. It's going to be a huge challenge to improve the ratings score, as we'll need a lot of five-star ratings to make this happen. But, we should be able to see the positive effect almost immediately once we've figured out the issues with the plugin. Of course, I love building in public, so I'll be sharing as much as I can about this project, about these projects, as we go through them. As always, I'll be looking for feedback, good or bad, to ensure we're building what you as a user actually want. Very excited by this way of working! 🚀 #radicalspeedmonth

In his #CheckoutSummit talk today, @jkohlbach reported that they were spending huge amounts on ads but when they turned them off, their sales didn’t change. I found the same when we disabled Facebook ads but haven’t tried with Google Ads yet. Have you tried stopping your ads yet - what happened?

@KatieKeithBarn2 Thank you very much for the updates. It gives a good sense of what's going on in Shopify. Sorry for the loss of opportunity. You will clearly work your way out there.

#ShopifyDiary 354: Well. Shopify just brought native wholesale features to all plans. Company profiles, catalogs, volume pricing, quantity rules, payment terms. You no longer need Plus for B2B. We've already put 500+ hours into building our own B2B app. This was our biggest growth opportunity, and a big portion of what we've been building is now in core. Ouch. The silver lining (if there is one) is that our app will have a lot more features than core. If more merchants start doing B2B on Shopify, they'll eventually need apps for the features that core doesn't cover. Our next step is to do a full analysis of the new features so we can decide what needs to change on our roadmap 😩 shopify.com/news/b2b-for-a…

Today I used AI to extract the domains where one of our plugins was activated this year and analyze the most common use cases. We'll use this to make sure our sales page screenshots, wording, and demo speak directly to the audiences most likely to buy. Next, I need to do the same for our other plugins.

There are always a few loud voices who like to grumble about WooCommerce. There are always loud voices about everything. It is one of the great constants in life, like gravity or the existence of socks that vanish in the wash. Back when I ran face to face WordPress training courses, I used to finish the day with the plugins session. This was already the point when half the room was wondering if their brains had turned into warm porridge. Then I would say, very casually, that we were going to build an online store in about five minutes. Five minutes. People would stare at me the way you stare at a magician who claims he can pull a live alpaca out of a hat. Then I would open WooCommerce, click a few buttons, and boom. Store. Every time I did this, the reaction was the same. Gasps. Shock. The kind of expressions normally reserved for witnessing a royal wedding or discovering a forgotten doughnut in the kitchen. It is easy to forget how life changing WooCommerce has been for millions of people. You see it up close though and you never forget it. Something that takes roughly as long as making a cup of tea suddenly gives someone a shot at independence or a way to support their family or a reason to believe that their idea might actually work. That isn’t just impressive. It is the sort of quiet magic that changes the course of real lives.
