@nuoyitea I’m crying cause I am team An Zhe, I thought Anzhe was an odd choice cause I’m Chinese myself and I’d never stick MY romanized name together. But all the weirdos got me defending Anzhe cause guess what, it IS subjective and even if I wouldn’t do it, it’s not wrong OR a big deal😭

some additional context that went into the carefully considered choice of rendering 安折 as “anzhe” 🧵🪡 firstly, anzhe is not a person, legally or physically. all his documents say an ze, and that’s who he’s assumed to be - the name “anzhe” exists only in his head.

People are really showing their true colours with all the "I don't condone harassment, BUT/HOWEVER..."
With all due disrespect, no "but" or "however". People's behaviour over this situation is way out of line.

@nuoyitea I agree, but I wish they didn't just conveniently back up their staff when it's going to cost them money. I'm learning ruthie was harassed over MDZS and they said nothing?? By a lot more people? Wtf..

I don’t like the change, personally, but it would’ve been fucked up to cave to so much harassment and vitriol so… I’m glad they’re sticking up for their staff 😗

@gwentybabe It’s not a decision I’m happy with but it would set a dangerous precedent if they didn’t back up their staff atp. If people could be normal when there is a disagreement then this would be a different conversation

@nuoyitea The few people who were being genuinely harassing don't make the rest of the genuine complaints invalid, y'know. And people didn't get that way until the translator basically mocked all the fans and 7s doubled down on the change.
