So satisfying to crack this freeze dry ampoule of Rhodococcus that I made in 1994 as a 21 year old… It still blows my mind that bacteria can survive in suspended animation at room temperature pretty much indefinitely…and they’re prob in better shape than me 28 years later !

My latest addition to the bee chemistry art vibe on the left! The molecule is Melittin, the main component in honey bee venom! Interestingly it’s one of the smallest known proteins to fold spontaneously! The flowers are apple blossoms, a favorite of honey bees. 🌸🐝 #chemtwitter

Hello twitter fam, Thanks to those who noticed my short absence. I have been quiet because unfortunately, my dear dad had a stroke on Friday & passed away on the weekend. I will miss him very, very much.

@synapse101 @DrHeidiHilton Took my parents about 5 episodes to get into. I was hooked around half way through season 1 of Schitts Creek. Season 1 is the worst of the seasons but I love it all in my millionth rewatch. 😅

Things to binge (available on Stan, Binge, Netflix, Prime or Disney plus please). I'm after the kind of show you watch when you're tired, absent minded or multitasking - nothing I have to concentrate on - hit me!

@Nutritionprof1 @Examinecom We've found about a tablespoon (20g) a day has a positive effect. You can have it straight from the spoon, or on toast, in your yoghurt, or even in your tea or coffee

@Nutritionprof1 @Examinecom Hello- we look at a range of honey from different Australian floral sources. All had some benefits- doesn't seem to be linked to a particular type! Suspect most honeys will have prebiotic benefits, and that they all do slightly different things in the gut.
