HOW MANY VOTES ARE NEEDED TO CONVICT OR ACQUIT VP SARA? Under the Constitution, conviction requires a two-thirds majority in the 24-member Senate — 16 votes. Conversely, Vice President Sara Duterte needs at least nine votes to be acquitted and remain in office. A conviction would mean her immediate removal from the vice presidency and a permanent ban from holding public office.

Should Sara Duterte face an impeachment trial in the Senate?
- Metro Manila: 🟩Yes 81% | 🟥No 17% | ⬜️Don't know 3%
- Luzon: 🟩Yes 69% | 🟥No 27% | ⬜️Don't know 5%
- Visayas: 🟩Yes 83% | 🟥No 13% | ⬜️Don't know 5%

Mindanao, said to be the vice president’s bailiwick, recorded the lowest level of support at 61 percent, as well as the highest level of opposition at 38 percent. Despite this, a majority of respondents there still want the trial to proceed in the Senate.
Support is strongest among Filipinos aged 18 to 24 (77 percent), followed by those aged 35 to 44 (73 percent).
