The first Europeans who conducted scholarly studies in Africa came up with these findings. In 1670 the Scottish cartographer John Ogilby observed that Africans everywhere had an urge to steal, especially from foreigners. He observed that Africans would boast about stealing as an achievement. He concluded this was innate to Africans. John Duncan, in his book Travels in Western Africa (1845) concluded that the predominant passion of Africans was theft, among their many other "depravities". William Reade, in Savage Africa (1864), wrote: "The Africans are all of them thieves. They have no sense of honor in that respect." Mungo Park concluded that stealing was the most prominent defect in the character of Africans: "We found the people thieves to a man." Thomas Hutchinson wrote (in his 1858 book Impressions of Western Africa): "Show me a Black man, and I will show you a thief". The Swedish explorer Charles Andersson believed that no one in Africa, from the king to the slave, would have second thoughts about stealing the shirt off his back if he could get away with it.

I’m generally pro-data center, but if you’re a normie, here is the story you’ve been hearing from Silicon Valley over the last decade: -AI is probably going to take your job. -It might kill you. -You will probably become part of “the permanent underclass”. -The very Big Tech billionaires+companies who have been more hostile+malicious to conservatives than any other business bloc in the world over the last decade will become unimaginably rich, while you+everyone you love will lose your job and become poor @Cernovich -The main spokesmen/“faces” in charge (Dario and Scam Altman) are openly hostile to you, your values, your politics, your way of life and everything you stand for -The tasteless philistines in tech are going to plant an utterly hideous industrial monstrosity in your backyard and probably pay you nothing. -for all this, in return you get: ???? It is not remotely difficult to understand why normies have reservations…& imbeciles on this website should stop pretending that it is. As usual, the blinkered tech spergs are abysmal at persuasion because they do not understand people, politics, or anything outside their (extremely narrow) cone of technical expertise and how any of this sounds outside their siloed, out-of-touch SF echo-chamber. If you support data centers, as I generally do, the normies are the last people you should blame.
Lomez@L0m3z

Data centers are a proxy for largely inarticulable concerns over tech and the emerging likelihood that AI is going to radically change our way of life much in the same way the internet has, and driven at least in part by two populist intuitions: one is that the further human value is abstracted out from the production of tangible things, the worse it is, and also that if the value of that thing isn't easily explained, if its mechanics are opaque (like exotic financial derivatives) or even unknowable (like AI), then I, the average guy, am probably somehow getting screwed. This doesn't mean the concerns are fake or unjustified, only that they are often misdirected.

In the olden days they were still shitlibs but not completely retarded so they would have plausible explanations why there is an African in the 12th century in England like 90s Robin Hood or in 50 BC Rome. Now they are just like this Gorilla nosed midnight skinned motherfucker is the Duke of Essex.

Big discovery on Rotten Tomatoes for The Odyssey. The real audience score is sitting at 56%, not the fake 97% they’re showing with their “Verified Audience” bullshit. A r/KotakuInAction user figured out how to see the actual numbers behind RT’s manipulation. Exactly what we’ve been saying. Real people are dragging this butchered mess, but Rotten Tomatoes is bending over backwards to protect it. Classic.

If Nolan wanted to make a modernized version of The Odyssey that imposes modern psychology and preoccupations (not to mention racial demographics) onto an ancient epic, he could have done an interpretation set in the current day. There are many examples of that kind of thing. But transposing the modern mindset and worldview into the ancient world turns the whole thing into a farce, which is why a number of scenes look and feel like a Mel Brooks movie with better cinematography. It’s totally absurd. What is the point of a story set in ancient times that doesn’t even try to actually capture ancient times?

@MattWalshBlog Don’t know if you know this but uh… it’s fictional. The “demographic” isn’t treaded upon, because it’s not about real people. Also, even if it was… to act like there WEREN’T any black Greeks at that time is either wildly moronic or wildly unaware of reality. Hope this helps!
