yk this has been a conversation for so long and it never really ends. personally, i don’t see myself dating unless i can at least provide for my own personal necessities. kasi sa totoo lang, sa panahon ngayon, even asking money from my parents feels heavy. i’m at that point where earning has changed me like the value of money is no longer abstract or theoretical. it’s measured in my working hours and my exhaustion even in mornings i get up to just to afford a sense of stability. but i understand why some people still choose to date even when they’re not financially stable or “successful” yet. love doesn’t wait for perfect conditions. sa pilipinas, sa totoo lang, it rarely aligns itself with economic readiness or life milestones. for many, it becomes a form of refuge, a kind of emotional infrastructure when everything else feels uncertain and there’s nothing inherently wrong with that. seeking connection even in instability is still deeply human. sometimes it’s hope. but i hope, when we date, it has to be with someone who carries the same level of determination and willingness to build a life. not necessarily someone who already has everything figured out but someone who understands the weight of effort, the discipline of growth and the reality we’re living in because our economy is deteriorating!!! it’s relentless, it’s unforgiving and it demands more from us than it ever did before.
