FWIW, I think £80m for Ivan Toney is too much at the best of times, let alone off the back of a long ban. I personally would swerve this in January and potentially revisit in summer.
No 2 situations are the same, but the Arda Turan + Aleix Vidal* to Barça fiasco is nagging at me

Brentford expect £80m+ for Ivan Toney in January making it difficult for suitors. Understand the club still prefer not to lose him this window and to have him sign a new deal, potentially with a release clause. Toney would welcome an #AFC approach, but nothing concrete yet.🐝

Such sad news about Steve Lee’s passing. He helped me out when I was a young reporter in the Midlands. Great guy and a fellow Watford fan to boot. My thoughts are with his family and friends

It’s been an amazing ride at a truly wonderful football institution, encompassing 17 years, 11 managers, 4 sets of owners, 6 Wembley trips and a Play-Off Final victory.
