Record-breaking temperatures are expected today across the region, with highs into the upper 80's for a majority of the lower elevations, and well into the 70's for the high mountain valleys. Some locations may approach or exceed monthly records for March. #COwx

The facts: #1: This shows an average of 3 random stations #2: None of those meet the 30-yr minimum POR for climate sites #3: There are 100s of stations in the FoCo area #4: The CSU station is the longest-standing, continuous, reliable climate site in Fort Collins
Energy Poverty is coming AU@ZSRenn

@NWSBoulder How can you claim hottest temperature since 1893, when NOAA only shows data at the station from 2003. Can we please stick to facts and not BS in this debate. ncei.noaa.gov/cdo-web/datase…

Temperatures begin to rebound today, with a 25% chance of light mountain showers this afternoon/evening. Record warm temperatures expected Tue-Wed, with March records within reach on Wednesday for some locations, along with increasing fire danger. #COwx

@ZSRenn This is not the same station. I don't know how much clearer we can be. Once again, there are hundreds of stations in Fort Collins. You can reply with a different station all night long if you like. Have a good day.

@ZSRenn We didn't. We quoted the CSU station. As we stated, Fort Collins has *hundreds* of stations spanning multiple public/private networks. You simply assumed the data in your screenshot pertained to our quoted station, which is does not.

The footprint of historic March heat expanded yesterday—intensifying across the Plains while extending as far east as Tennessee. Shown are select cities where March high temperature records were tied or broken last week.

Fort Collins saw it's hottest March day ever recorded (since 1893) at 91F, surpassing yesterday's record (89F). Incredibly, this is 2 degrees above APRIL's hottest recorded temperature (89F, April 30, 1992). The city hadn't recorded a March high above 81F prior to 2026. #COwx

Temperatures will fall closer to seasonal averages today following our overnight cold front. Expect mostly cloudy skies (especially in the morning), but less than a 15% chance for any light precipitation. #COwx

@J10LAM May 5th. That occurred in 2000. In other words, 45 days ahead of their previous earliest 90-degree day on record.
