It would violate TABOR, Prop 117, impose massive cost pressures on companies at a time when the state's business climate is already precarious, likely harm many of the workers it seeks to help, and offload some of the state's responsibility for reining in Medicaid spending as it continues swallowing up the budget.

The money IMHO, is being stolen. I think XCEL might have a budget for infrastructure upgrades but any “government money” (taxpayer dollars) is essentially stolen through regulations and studies (someone’s brother own an environmental company). Legal theft. Same reason Longmont still doesn’t have a train or a train station but still funding RTD. But Polis is having stupid game about naming a train between Cheyenne and Denver. They’ll NEVER build it - which now is a blessing, since it only shuttles vagrants around like their busses.

The money meant to improve and maintain infrastructure is instead being wasted on any kind of generation except what's proven to work, reliably and economically.
