Fireworks can be dangerous if not used responsibly. Always follow the instructions and stick to lighting and safety distance warnings #fireworksafe

If you live close to horses, let their owners know in advance that you’ll be having a fireworks display and make sure your fireworks are sited as far away from them as possible #fireworksafe

Store fireworks responsibly. Keep them in their original packaging in a secure, dry place away from children and pets and away from sources of ignition #fireworksafe

Keep your firework displays to the traditional celebration dates if you can and stick to the fireworks curfews – midnight on Bonfire Night, 1am on Diwali, New Year’s Eve and Chinese New Year and 11pm for the rest of the year #fireworksafe

Keep pets indoors and away from fireworks. Give any small animals who live outside extra bedding to burrow in #fireworksafe

Remember, it’s illegal for under 18’s to buy fireworks #fireworksafe

Dispose of fireworks responsibly. Ensure they’re fully extinguished, soak them in water overnight, then place them in a rubbish bag inside your bin #fireworksafe

Remember - never return to a lit firework unless the instructions state otherwise #fireworksafe

Fireworks aren’t always fun for everyone - let your neighbours know in advance if you’ll be having a display so they can take any steps they may need to prepare #fireworksafe

Make sure you only buy from licensed firework retailers, and never buy fireworks from unknown sellers on social media #fireworksafe
