Budget cuts threaten the safety and cleanliness of our parks. Join me, council members, and advocates tomorrow for a rally to #SaveNYCParks. 11AM at the Carl Schurz Memorial—116th & Morningside Drive—along Morningside Park. Best way to arrive is by the 1 train. See you there!

And we’re off! The first participatory budgeting ballot has been cast at our district office. Our office will be a voting site all week, so stop on by to make your voice heard on how to spend $1 million in our community. Anyone ages 11 and up can vote!

NEW: The Great Lawn in Central Park is reopening on Saturday, following damage from the Global Citizen Festival this fall. Global Citizen reimbursed the full $622K last week it cost to repair the great lawn to CPC. The concert will happen again on the lawn in 2024 on Sept. 28.

"We are proud to shine a bright light on our partnership with NYC Parks to study and find solutions to harmful algae blooms, one of which has long plagued Morningside Park’s pond," said President Minouche Shafik. Thank you @NYCParks & @NYCmorningside. 🦆 bit.ly/3NRk71m
