Our mission is to protect and serve the patients in New York’s medical marijuana program while leading the way for proposed adult-use across the state.

Inequities in the program are a result of the regulatory structure- which OCM can change. We're happy to see a more equitable, inclusive industry, and know that we (farmers, social equity, ROs, ancillary businesses, customers, and patients) are better when we all work together.

As a result, New York has a fraction of the registered patients of comparable states. Florida, which legalized medical cannabis at the same time, has a thriving medical program and over 700,000 patients.

Congrats to NY’s first adult-use cannabis licenses! It’s encouraging to see the OCM take initial steps to bring NY’s adult-use market to life. Less encouraging is the jab at medical ROs that employ thousands of NYers and serve over 100k patients. FYI several ROs are HQed in NY!

BREAKING: The New York State Cannabis Control Board just approved the first 52 adult-use cannabis cultivation licenses for farms across the state. The first cannabis product on dispensary shelves will come from NY's hard-working family farmers, not out-of-state corporations.

FYI - Adult-use cannabis programs help to reduce the overall cost for medical cannabis patients. Now is the time to expand the medical program and make it more accessible for New Yorkers while working to build out a robust adult-use program. #medmar #MRTA

ICYMI: Powerful message from medical cannabis patient Glenda Tyson about the need to prioritize patient access, affordability & equity, not let the medical program go without much-needed reforms and get lost as adult-use ramps up in NYS. lohud.com/story/opinion/…

NYMCIA supports the equitable expansion of medical licenses, which can improve MWBE access to the cannabis industry. It is key that communities that have been disproportionately harmed by prohibition now have an opportunity to benefit from legalization.

New York's medical cannabis patients have waited far too long for an affordable and accessible program. Incoming Gov. Hochul can change all that. Learn how. empirereportnewyork.com/ending-the-log…
