Today, we added 103 more names to the NYPD’s Hall of Heroes — forever etching their legacies into the history of this department.
When a name is placed here, it joins a line of NYPD members who made the decision to serve this city knowing what that choice could cost them.
These walls signify what that sacrifice has meant across nearly two centuries. Long after assignments change and tours end, these names will stay here as a reminder of what it means to answer this noble calling.
May the memories of these 103 fallen heroes, and of everyone we’ve lost over the years, forever be a blessing.

Too often there are no consequences in the criminal justice system for this type of outrageous behavior.
Clearly, it’s time for that to change.
My hope and expectation is that Asil Assaidi will be held fully accountable for his actions.

This is Asil Assaidi, who the NYPD arrested and charged for his role in Saturday’s dangerous car meet-up. This type of chaos has no place in our city, and we'll continue to crackdown on anyone who engages in this reckless behavior.

Grateful to @NYPDnews Chaplain Reverend Recabarren for always standing with our precinct and officers.
His inspiring words and prayers are a powerful reminder that faith, community, and service go hand in hand.

On the 38th anniversary of his passing, we remember Officer Edward Byrne, who was assassinated in his patrol car while protecting a witness in a drug case.
Generations of officers have come and gone, but our unwavering commitment to his legacy endures.

Heavy snow bands are moving across the city with snowfall rates of 2 to 3 inches per hour.
Additional intense bands will continue overnight, producing near whiteout conditions and rapid snow accumulation.
Strong winds are increasing, visibility is collapsing, and travel conditions are becoming dangerous to impossible. Conditions can turn life threatening quickly.
⚠️ NYC roads are now closed to non-essential vehicles. Stay off the roads and give emergency and snow plow crews room to safely operate.
