Some Pitt men's basketball coaching news: According to @MattSteinbrink, former Panther Ronald Ramon is joining Jeff Capel's coaching staff. Ramon was the assistant director of basketball ops at Pitt six years ago and was most recently on the bench at Iona.

Saint Louis & VCU are heading to the Round of 32 in the NCAA Tournament. That is now 2 times in the last 3 years the A10 has had 2 teams make the Round of 32. Duquesne & Dayton made it in 2024… Mid-Majors are very much alive and well!

Today was a great day for the Atlantic 10. VCU comes back to beat North Carolina and Saint Louis pounds Georgia. 2 of 32.

Really cool moment tonight postgame after VCU upset UNC. VCU head coach Phil Martelli Jr. made a point to shoutout the student reporters that made the trip. Lots of great stuff this time of year, but this was a really awesome, genuine exchange.

Jamie Dixon has reached the NCAA Tournament in 16 of 23 seasons as a head coach. To do that at Pitt and TCU is remarkable.

With Capel back @AGreeneIV should schedule Duquesne this season. It’s great for the city and needs to be played.

Our twins are 15; they don't remember when Pitt basketball was really good. I was trying to explain last night how at one time, Pitt basketball tickets were tougher than Steelers tickets. They didn't believe me. They told me Pitt hoops doesn't even register to many teens.

Dukes fans showed up yesterday!! Can only imagine the showing today!!

Tyler Cochran for Rhode Island went 9/14 from 3PT today against Duquesne at PPG Paints Arena. He was one 3-pointer away from tying Jack Gohlke’s PPG Paints Arena record (10) that was set in the First Round against Kentucky during March Madness back in 2024!
