A huge congrats to Candice Stanton, the new principal at Slater-Marietta Elementary School. Ms. Stanton has served as the schools administrative assistant since 2015. We very much look forward to her leadership! #BelieveInEveryStudent

Oakview was excited to host GCS IC's and Literacy Specialists today! 👩🏼‍🏫 We learned more about the G2 literacy plans, observed live lessons, and discussed next steps using coaching models. Two more sessions are coming soon! @gcschools

We’ve got goals! 💪🏻 4th grade students utilized a pre-reading assessment and rubric to score their abilities in synthesizing, inferencing, identifying author’s craft, and theme. So proud to see such reflection, engagement, growth mindset, and collaboration. Way to go 4th grade!

3rd grade mathematicians are busy at work this morning as they work on using place value to round whole numbers to the nearest 10. Math workshops, hands-on materials, and student engagement are on full display! Great work owls! #onlyatoakview 🦉
