Thomas Partey didn't help Arsenal win any major silverware during his time at the club.
On the other side, Zubimendi is a generational talent. A true midfield maestro who brings composure, intelligence, and control to the game like few others in his position.
He also rejected offer from like Real Madrid and Liverpool to commit to Arsenal, choosing the project under Mikel Arteta. Let's stop disrespecting Martin Zubimendi just because of fondness for the former player.

Martin Zubimendi is a great player. But he has clearly been struggling over the last few months. I think he's almost too focused at box crashing and being a final third player then a progressor. He has struggled all season to build up and that carrying I have seen for Spain he hasn't done as much. I do think the manager clearly needs to help him though. Myles should have played more, or even Norgaard to get minutes off him. I have no issues with Zubimendi being a part of the team but he can't start every game. We need to sign a proper 6 in the summer to take some burden off.

Arteta has that “master reverence “ for Pep and it will always cost him.
There was nothing extra odinary pep did in that game asides using his wings . Arteta could easily pull out a counter measure on time to nullify pep, rather he told them to sit back and absorb pressure.
It’s this unnecessary reverence to pep and big teams that will cost Arteta big time because the big boys don’t care about those bed time story principles, they care about winning and being dominant.

Arteta didn’t pick Kepa because of tactics.
He picked him because of principle.
Every player in that dressing room was watching. Not the game him. Watching to see what kind of man their manager is when the stakes are highest.
That’s the part people miss about Arteta. Trophies don’t build trust. Moments do. The small ones. The ones nobody tweets about.
Pep builds machines. Arteta builds men.
And that’s exactly why when Arsenal finally win this league, it won’t just feel like a trophy.

It’s likely Pep will use the same tactics in the leauge game
- Stop arsenals from playing out of the back with 4 attacking Pressers
- Use the 2 players in midfield and try to win second balls
Mikel can learn from this loss and bring up a counter strategy. And I don’t think he needs to do much, just start Raya and Calafiori.
