@Press_X_Fool @PopBase Not quite. Batgirl was axed in 2022 and Coyote vs Acme is still in purgatory despite being finished and testing well. WB seems more interested in the accounting math than the actual movies.

Warner Bros. insiders say the Paramount merger is frustrating, as the company reportedly didn’t need to sell for financial reasons, according to Variety. • WB made history with 7 consecutive movies opening above $40M at the box office • HBO Max recovered from a $2.1B loss in 2022 to a $1.4B profit in 2025 • Warner Bros.’ film and TV operations “had a standout year,” analyst Robert Fishman wrote in his review of WBD’s 2025 full-year financials. @IaconKnight @Vbrewski @PopBase That's not true. Zaslav was already setting the company up to sale while saying he wasn't looking to. But everyone knew. Maybe the offers upped the timeline slightly, but it was always planned

@Vbrewski @PopBase It was always believed that Zaslav bought WB to flip it. But he had to wait a few years to do so. He was in the process of dividing the assets, which signals selling, at least, part of the company or making it more palatable to sell in pieces. This wasn't a surprise

@PopBase That’s what makes it feel so messy, on paper they’re actually doing well, so the move doesn’t really feel necessary. Curious what’s happening behind the scenes that pushed things in this direction anyway.

@Chandle32526041 @ShiinaBR Laufey has more musical talent than a lot of the so-called artists they've had in the past. She's not noise pollution. She's classically trained in cello and piano. Her music is a beautiful mix of classical and jazz. She's not the garbage that's normally on the radio

@Dr_FathyMahdy @Adam_FaithfulM And it wasn't that he couldn't defend himself. When asked to, he refused & said the authority whether he died or not was his. He CHOSE death & punishment to be the atonement for our sins. But then even had victory over death by being raised to life and in turn giving us new life

@Dr_FathyMahdy @Adam_FaithfulM So God sent his son, Jesus, to be the ultimate sacrifice. He loved us so much, that he was willing to sacrifice his own "firstborn" & Jesus (being God) was willing to suffer & die in order for us to have a relationship with Him. It was the ultimate symbol of his love.

In 1986, the American Medical Association published an article titled "The Physical Death of Jesus Christ". It details the entire process of Jesus' trial to His death on the cross. In Luke 22, before Jesus is arrested, it is written that He was in great distress & sweating blood. Although rare, it is recognized as Hematidrosis, a condition caused by high levels of stress. At the time, the crucifixion was considered the worst death for the worst of criminals. But this is not all Jesus faced. He endured whipping so severe that it tore the flesh from His body. He was beaten so horribly that His face was torn & His beard ripped. A crown of thorns, 2-3 inches long cut deeply into His scalp. The leather whip used to flog Him had tiny iron balls & sharp bones. The balls caused internal injuries while the sharp bones ripped open His flesh. His skeletal muscles, veins, & bowels are exposed, causing major blood loss. Most men do not survive this kind of torture. After Jesus was severely flogged, He was forced to carry His cross while people mocked & spat on Him. Crucifixion was a process meant to instill excruciating pain, creating a slow & agonizing death. Nails as long as 8 inches were driven into Jesus' wrists & feet. The Roman soldiers knew the tendons in the wrists would tear & break, forcing Jesus to use His back muscles to support Himself to breathe. Imagine the struggle, the pain, the courage...Jesus endured this reality for 3 hours! The Gospel of John writes that after Jesus' death, a Roman soldier pierced His side with a spear & blood & water came out. Scientists explain that from hypovolemic shock, the rapid heart rate causes fluid to gather in the sack around the lungs & heart. The accumulation of fluid in the membrane around the heart is called a Pericardial effusion & the lungs is called a pleural effusion. To the world, Christianity is as foolish as it can get. They believe it's for the weak. But when you are confronted by the reality of the cross, it's clearly not a pretty sight. It is brutal & horrific. This is the weight Jesus carried. The weight of the sins of the world, all so that we can live. God's wrath is fully satisfied in Jesus. This is what it took. Repent & believe! Jesus is “God among us” in the flesh. Jesus is our Savior. Jesus loves you so much that He went through this spiritual and physical punishment for your sins and mine. Jesus is the LORD, Almighty God, Everlasting Father. Thank You, Jesus.

@Zepp1978 If you want a cool lightsaber battle with substance, then watch The Acolyte. So many people want to hate on it, but everyone that actually watched it all the way through loved it. It could have been even better if they would have continued it, considering where they were heading

@Zepp1978 While the lightsaber battles in the prequels were great, that was it. The battles in the sequels made sense. More in line with the OT. Rey wasn't that well trained, and Kylo was toying with her. Although the battle in TLJ was pretty good. The PT was all flair and no substance.

@jake_theviking He said in 10 yrs from now. The prequels took 20 years before it became popular to be a fan. Mostly from younger audiences. The sequels were better than the prequels, so it's sure to happen with them as well. My son liked the sequels but hasn't got into the OT yet. Maybe one day

@LilithThelema @jake_theviking Right. People forget that The Last Jedi was praised by critics. It still sits at 91%. Fans just wanted to crap on it because they want to find something to hate because it's not the OT or Heir to the Empire and didn't play out like they wanted.

@jake_theviking Something the sequel haters seem to forget is that TFA and TLJ received a lot of praise in addition to the hate when they first came out. It wasn't until people who praised both those movies then criticised ROS that hating on the sequels started to become the norm.

@Gotword_ @ronsterd89 @ChristinaHambu4 They also created jobs by hiring shoppers. I have not seen any store do this autonomously. It would be highly difficult to make that happen & work properly. Even if it was 100% possible, we're a long way off from that. Even Amazon has real ppl even though they could do it easier

@ronsterd89 @ChristinaHambu4 A lot of the bug walmarts do in the back they sectioned off and made stores smaller, phase 2 is making it autonomous which a few already are so these workers wont be around for long , walmart invested billions in this

I was at Walmart earlier and I swear those employees with the big Spark shopping carts that go around picking items for online orders are constantly in the way. One of them had their cart parked sideways across the aisle while they were scanning items, and everyone else had to literally squeeze by just to get through. It amazes me how some people can have zero awareness of the customers around them. The store is already crowded and instead of moving their cart to the side, they just leave it wherever they feel like. At some point that stops being ‘doing your job’ and just turns into bad customer service. Honestly I’m probably going to say something to the front desk next time because if your job is to shop for orders, you should at least do it efficiently and not block entire aisles for everyone else. Am I the only one who notices this or does it drive anyone else crazy too? 🤔

@manolis_312 @ronsterd89 @ChristinaHambu4 It didn't work because it was ahead of its time. The infrastructure (technology and internet) just wasn't there. Now it's become the norm. I've been doing it for years and it's only getting bigger. Maybe you should get smarter and learn to do it yourself.

@ronsterd89 @ChristinaHambu4 They all tried this during the dot com boom early 2000s. The model just doesn't work. So they decided to punish the people who actually go to the stores and shop and rewarding the people sitting at home on their phone 😂😂😂😂😂

@jbstevens8 @ronsterd89 @ChristinaHambu4 I use it to save time. Between work, kids, etc. It's very convenient to order everything online then just go by and pick it up. It saves a lot of time, walking around a store & standing in line for an hour. It's not being lazy. It's being smarter.

@ronsterd89 1. These aren't Spark employees. They are Walmart employees. 2. Not all of them are like that. I've found most are pretty nice 3. Instead of complaining, just get them to do your shopping for you :) lol

@bizlet7 It took a similar plot of From Dusk til Dawn (which elements aren't unique either) and added depth and layers to it that elevated it. A lot of Oscar films have done something similar by taking a normal story and elevating it artistically in some way.

@bizlet7 From Dusk til Dawn was nowhere near deserving of an Oscar. After seeing Sinners, I too saw it in the same vein. But eventually I started to understand all the layers to the movie. From the importance of the music, to the importance of the Irish and Remmick's story.

Imagine how ridiculous it would be if Dusk Till Dawn won 11 Oscars including Best Picture in 1996. It would be a national scandal. Like Congress would be holding hearings about Hollywood corruption.
Pop Base@PopBase

‘Sinners’ could become one of the most-awarded films in #Oscars history this Sunday. After receiving a record-breaking 16 nominations, the film has the possibility of breaking the record of winning more than 11 trophies in one night.

@CricTracker_42 @cosmic_marvel @AlexFromCC But also one of these is the child of Scarlet Witch (along with his brother, not shown since he won't be introduced until later this year) & another can open portals to cross the multiverse. So pretty powerful. Not counting Ironheart's genius. So they shouldn't be underestimated

@CricTracker_42 @cosmic_marvel @AlexFromCC If you don't know who they are then that's on you. Ant-man was known, but one of the least known or cared about in the Infinity Saga. Maybe The Champions being mostly unknown (thus overlooked) will play into how they are able to get away with whatever they do in Secret Wars.
