Frédéric Bastiat’s short masterpiece The Law (1850) is one of the most powerful defences of liberty ever written. In it, Bastiat argues that the sole legitimate purpose of law is to protect the natural rights of every individual to life, liberty and property. Law, properly understood, is simply “the organization of the natural right of lawful defence”. Yet Bastiat saw a fatal perversion: when the law goes beyond this protective role and begins to plunder some citizens to benefit others, it becomes an instrument of legalized theft. He called this “legal plunder". Once government uses force to redistribute wealth, regulate speech, impose “charity” or enforce equality of outcome, the law no longer defends rights; it violates them. Bastiat warned that every special-interest group then competes to capture the state for its own advantage - workers against employers, farmers against consumers, one region against another - turning politics into organized predation. The result is endless conflict, moral decay, and the slow destruction of liberty. In clear, elegant prose, Bastiat showed that true justice requires a limited law that restrains plunder, not one that organizes it. When the law is perverted, freedom dies under the guise of the common good.

I live in Virginia, and tomorrow I’ll be voting no. But I won’t pretend to be surprised if we come up short. The last four years have been marked by zero unified messaging, zero red wave, and zero meaningful, common-sense protections put in place for Virginians. Anyone who’s been paying attention understands this. None of this should be shocking. The stage has been set- we’re just watching it play out.

SEAN SPICER: Let's stop pretending that this Democrat redistricting play in Virginia is anything but stealing power from people who are elected. It's not temporary. It's not fair. This is literally an attempt to steal power. @seanspicer

Virginia is a purple state. 5 seats are potentially going to be stolen. There is an election happening right now, and especially tomorrow. Tell all of your friends and family to vote NO!

@marceelias Very interesting -- some might say exceedingly suspicious -- how hard you work to avoid any scrutiny of Democrat-controlled areas' voting information.

Virginia, Democrats are spending tens of millions of dollars to buy 4 congressional seats. They’ve even resurrected President Obama in their quest to gerrymander the Commonwealth. Get everyone you know in VA to vote 👉NO👈 — tomorrow — April 21st.

🚨 HOLY CRAP! Trump Interior Sec. Doug Burgum just revealed he found NGOs where up to 100% PERCENT of their revenue was the federal government... ...and their CEO would make $650K a YEAR, and pay lobbyists $400K. He exposes it: "We found organizations that were receiving grants from Interior, where 80 to 100 percent of the revenue of that NGO was a grant from the federal government." "And yet those organizations, we were the sole source of their revenue, but they would have a CEO making $650,000 and four $400,000 lobbyists!" @RapidResponse47 Dems are FURIOUS the Trump admin is cracking down on this! Keep pushing!

Virginia is currently the model for fair representation – Dems won 52% of the presidential vote & have 55% of the House seats. The closest that is mathematically possible to perfect fairness, given 11 seats. Voting to "restore fairness" would change that.

If Virginians approve the constitutional amendment to get rid of nonpartisan redistricting, then 8 out of the 10 most gerrymandered states (more congressmen than popular vote) would be Dem advantage. Yet the ballot language asks about "restoring fairness" dailywire.com/news/voters-de…

Virginians vote tomorrow on whether a 52% Dem state should have 92% D congressmen. A Daily Wire analysis found that this is not "leveling the playing field" against Rs: the 5 most disproportionate states are all DEM advantage, and VA's proposal is twice as disproportionate as TX.
