I genuinely want to know what criteria informed Mahama’s decision to appoint Sam George as Minister for Digital Technology. I think that portfolio should be reserved for people with strong technical backgrounds and real industry experience in tech, innovation, and digital systems

Problems tech people face in Ghana 🇬🇭 1. Very very poor internet connection 📶 2. No support for tech startups 3. No gov support for young and aspiring tech guys 4. Poor tech tuition in our universities, old tech courses and no practicals 🤦‍♂️😌 only old theory stuff 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Dzata said he has a country to build and will ensure enforcement in the technology space. Ghana could not enforce its procurement laws or its anti-corruption laws but it found the capacity to enforce fees on the young people building startups in Ghana

NITA is not responsible for policy making. Bills are sponsored by Ministries and not Agencies. The X Space was organised by the Ministry and not the Agency. Take your time and know the difference. Whoever you engaged was NOT from the Ministry and had no authority to hold an X Space on an issue emanating from the Ministry. Thank you. 🦁🇬🇭

Regardless of the back and forth around the NITA Bill, Hon. @samgeorgegh making the bill public for discussion is a big deal. That alone sets a strong standard for ministerial public engagement and transparency. We can critique, disagree, and push back where necessary, but openness must also be commended. I hope this becomes the norm for every minister. And if that happens, let's credit Djata for this. Hopefully, V5 also receives the same intense, productive, and inclusive national discussion. #NITA
