The arts are going to play a huge part in the restoration of communities and societies over the next years. Arts events facilitate the safe gathering of people in shared explorations of what it is to be human and what it is to dream, aspire and challenge. They create empathy 1/

Seeing a lot of people saying they don’t want Carrick, and that “United have failed” to get a top manager, but can’t actually name any managers that are realistic. A one-year deal, with an option, would make a whole lot of sense. But, most importantly, the recruitment has to be perfect this summer.

Kompany went from Burnley to Bayern. Maresca went from Leicester to Chelsea. Zidane went from the academy to Real Madrid’s first team. Flick went from Hoffenheim to Bayern. Enrique went from Celta Vigo to Barcelona. Pep went from Barça Atletic to Barcelona. But some people think Manchester United is “too big” for Michael Carrick? 🤦‍♂️ Every elite manager started somewhere before reaching the top.

✍️ 'Study the first league goal that Arsenal scored last August, at Old Trafford. William Saliba was elbowing and obstructing Altay Bayindir, but still Riccardo Calafiori’s goal was allowed to stand, without any VAR review,' writes @oliverbrown_tel. 'The inconsistent officiating lies at the core of the controversy.' Read the column ⬇️ telegraph.co.uk/football/2026/…

There’s a young Irish player called Troy Parrott knocking it out of the park for AZ Alkmaar that I think would fit exactly what United are looking for up top. Could be a great partnership with Sesko in a 2 or a different set up in a 1. A great signing this summer imho #MUFC

Again, re the West Ham goal ruled out… pundits not understanding that the issue isn’t the foul being given for most, it is that we’ve seen all season that some clubs get those reviews and others simply get ignored and the on field decision of goal stands. It’s why many supporters hate VAR. We see goalkeepers fouled like that every week and nothing ever happens. Funnily enough, West Ham’s winner against Spurs was exactly the same. Nobody said it was a foul, no on field review. Just the usual ‘Vicario needs to be stronger there’. Only a handful of clubs get the decision that Arsenal got today. So which one is true?

‘The original decision given by referee will not be changed unless the video review clearly shows that the decision was a 'clear and obvious error'’ If a review takes over 4 mins of rewinding and pausing footage to come to a decision then how is it ‘clear and obvious error’?

@AnnemarieDray It really is. The rot of money & influence taking hold. Until they deal with City, sort out VAR/refereeing, deal with rules on holding in the area & empower coaches as managers nothing will change. Also the football ceases to matter in a media circus that generates its own news.

“Arsenal have been blocking the opponent’s goalkeeper all season long, they would NEVER be on top of the league if we disallow these goals!” Peter Schmeichel thank you for calling them out. have your cheating title VARSENAL. 👏

Huge credit to Declan Rice for saving a man from choking today. The Heimlich manoeuvre is a skill that everyone should know.

Why is Declan Rice blatantly dragging/wrestling Mavrapanos into the goalmouth not a foul, but an arm across the front of Raya is? Ridiculous decision that has a major impact at both ends of the Premier League.

So many similar Arsenal ‘goals’ not disallowed. Joke of a season. Destroying the game.

Fitting for this Premier League season, too, to have this moment. The drama of Miklosko & Redknapp in 95, Cole in 99, Aguero in 2012 and now fifty minutes of referees stood trying to make a call in 2026. The beautiful game ♥️♥️

VAR winning Arsenal a league is an ideal way for them to win a title. Sums them up. Robotic, charmless and hated. .

Refs handing Arsenal a title off a foul on a corner, something that has kept them alive the entire season, would be the end of football. Cancel the year its a FARCE.
