Seeing a lot of people saying they don’t want Carrick, and that “United have failed” to get a top manager, but can’t actually name any managers that are realistic. A one-year deal, with an option, would make a whole lot of sense. But, most importantly, the recruitment has to be perfect this summer.

Kompany went from Burnley to Bayern.
Maresca went from Leicester to Chelsea.
Zidane went from the academy to Real Madrid’s first team.
Flick went from Hoffenheim to Bayern.
Enrique went from Celta Vigo to Barcelona.
Pep went from Barça Atletic to Barcelona.
But some people think Manchester United is “too big” for Michael Carrick? 🤦♂️
Every elite manager started somewhere before reaching the top.

✍️ 'Study the first league goal that Arsenal scored last August, at Old Trafford. William Saliba was elbowing and obstructing Altay Bayindir, but still Riccardo Calafiori’s goal was allowed to stand, without any VAR review,' writes @oliverbrown_tel.
'The inconsistent officiating lies at the core of the controversy.'

There’s a young Irish player called Troy Parrott knocking it out of the park for AZ Alkmaar that I think would fit exactly what United are looking for up top. Could be a great partnership with Sesko in a 2 or a different set up in a 1. A great signing this summer imho #MUFC

Again, re the West Ham goal ruled out… pundits not understanding that the issue isn’t the foul being given for most, it is that we’ve seen all season that some clubs get those reviews and others simply get ignored and the on field decision of goal stands.
It’s why many supporters hate VAR. We see goalkeepers fouled like that every week and nothing ever happens.
Funnily enough, West Ham’s winner against Spurs was exactly the same. Nobody said it was a foul, no on field review. Just the usual ‘Vicario needs to be stronger there’. Only a handful of clubs get the decision that Arsenal got today.
So which one is true?

@AnnemarieDray It really is. The rot of money & influence taking hold. Until they deal with City, sort out VAR/refereeing, deal with rules on holding in the area & empower coaches as managers nothing will change. Also the football ceases to matter in a media circus that generates its own news.

Mikel Arteta went straight to David Raya at full time. 🫂🇪🇸

Yes but…Declan Rice bear hugging someone in the box also a clear penalty. Also many similar Arsenal ‘goals’ not disallowed. Joke of a season. Destroying the game.

I was "where's the foul" for a few minutes but the Pablo arm is quite clear.
