THIS is why I'm out here.

I spoke to a U.S. citizen today that had his window smashed in and was pulled out of his car by border patrol AFTER he showed his papers. Oh and they took his car keys.

Hi, I took that photo with my phone, it was in fact, taken today and it's not ai. That photo of me was taken with my phone minutes before I took the next 3 images.

Former Green Beret, Adam Smith, rescued his 3-year-old daughter and ex-wife from Helene with a private helicopter and it prompted him to start an organization to rescue and deliver supplies to areas in need.

I can believe how much this road has improved since the storm.

I saw so much more than just the destruction in WNC. I saw how truly beautiful and resilient North Carolina is. At the end of the day, all we really have is community and we have no shortage of it. Even in the most remote hollers, you can count on someone coming to help rebuild.

I love North Carolina.
