I think adventure game designers should incentivize exploration through "treasure at the end of the hall" as little as possible. Not that treasure is undesirable as a tool, but it can really flatten the space of expression for level design to let treasure define everything

editing for tight space limits, I'm always cutting "I think (that)..." and "it seems..." out from a handful of cells, amongst other superfluous fluff.

This is the screen that appears after the GBA boot logo. This is the first Mario Advance game by the way. Won’t work in a gameboy player either. Japanese net didn’t seem to turn up anything useful.

Looking for someone who's familiar with GBA hardware/software to help solve a problem. I have a Japanese copy of Mario Advance that, on boot, displays an error message saying that there's a problem with the backup memory. Any idea what could cause this and if it's fixable?
