Girl at Japanese bookstore: You come here a lot?
Me: Is that concerning?
Girl: A little.
she takes book from my hand.
Girl: This author only writes sadness.
Me: maybe I enjoy realism.
Girl looks at me for long time.
then quietly walks away and returns with another book.
Girl: This one has sadness.
she places second book on top.
Girl: But also soup.
honestly strongest literary recommendation I’ve ever received.

Me: visiting small shrine in Kyoto.
completely empty except old groundskeeper sweeping leaves.
I ring bell once and make wish silently.
Old man: Wrong.
Me: ...what.
Old man still sweeping.
Old man: Too vague.
Me: My wish was vague?
Old man: Spirits appreciate specifics.
man talking like customer service representative for gods.
Me: Okay then... I want things to feel less lonely.
old man finally stops sweeping.
long silence.
Old man: Ah.
Me: Why does everyone in Japan say “ah” like they unlocked hidden dialogue.
Old man points behind me.
small orange cat sitting there staring at me.
Old man: Congratulations. First customer today.
cat immediately walks away.
honestly felt symbolic somehow.

Director’s Note EP6 — Things You Definitely Didn’t Need to Know from P’Pep
The swimming pool scene
Silom Spicy Surprise
#LoveofSilomEP6
The swimming pool scene with Poom was filmed in December, during winter. As you can probably tell, he was freezing and shaking the whole time but still trying his best to hold it together. Seeing him so cold honestly made me wonder if we should just change the scene into a simple conversation on land instead. But… the blocking looked way prettier this way. And when he swam across and flipped his bob haircut dramatically to the other side, it really was beautiful, okay? 55555555

@estie_w11 @nutwoof You put it into words so nicely, it deserves recognition. Personally, I'm not emotionally invested enough in outside-of-series activities to care too much about it but it's true it's a bit sad that the stereotypes refuse to go away even with how far we've come.
English

@nutwoof In fan spaces I get it, it’s character reference, but hearing the actors talking about each other in that way is weird as hell to me.I’m always screaming at fans to separate characters from the actors but kinda hard when the actors don’t even do it. Letting stereotypes perpetuate

saying Kenjiro Tsuda have a “generic male voice” is the dumbest excuse TikTok could have come up with to defend ai shit.
That man gets other actors giggling and kicking their feet just with his voice
Seiyuu Corner@seiyuucorner
Kenjiro Tsuda has filed a lawsuit against TikTok over AI-generated videos allegedly mimicking his voice without permission. Over 180 videos using AI-generated narration similar to Tsuda’s voice were uploaded to the platform. Tsuda claims this violates his publicity rights and is demanding the videos be removed, while TikTok reportedly argues the voice is merely a “generic male voice.” The voice actor is known for his roles as Kento Nanami in Jujutsu Kaisen, Seto Kaiba in Yu-Gi-Oh!, Kishibe in Chainsaw Man, and more.
