Germany’s government sold the last of its Bitcoin holdings on July 12, per Arkham Intelligence data, with the final transaction involving 3,846 Bitcoin sent to institutional entities “Flow Traders and 139Po.” This sale was part of a larger disposal of tens of thousands of Bitcoin over recent weeks, totaling around 50,000 Bitcoin, primarily seized assets. This selling pressure has kept Bitcoin below the $60,000 mark and its 200-day exponential moving average. Despite Germany exhausting its Bitcoin reserves, continued selling pressure from the $9 billion Mt. Gox reimbursement plan might maintain a bearish market sentiment. Analyst Jacob King suggests that investors might sell up to 99% of Mt. Gox’s $8.2 billion, potentially affecting the market. However, IG Markets analyst Tony Sycamore argues that the impact might not be as severe, noting that the reimbursement plan has long been anticipated and is likely already priced into the market.
