⚠️ Senate reconciliation vote undermines U.S. clean energy progress ⚠️ Today’s Senate vote maintained some IRA provisions—but introduced shortsighted energy policies that will raise energy prices, stall critical energy development, and cede AI innovation and global clean energy leadership to China. 🗣️ “This bill is the bare minimum,” said Liz Burdock, CEO of Oceantic Network. “It limits clean energy and manufacturing tax credits, threatens billions in investment, and jeopardizes good-paying jobs across the country.” Offshore wind is ready to deliver up to 10 GW of power ⚡️before the next decade—supporting national security, revitalizing #AmericanMade shipbuilding and steel production, and lowering household energy costs. But instead, this legislation weakens America’s ability to meet surging energy demand and power AI-driven innovation. We urge Congress to adopt a true all-of-the-above energy strategy that prioritizes American jobs, innovation, and energy security. 🔗 Read our full statement: heyor.ca/5AVUfw #OffshoreWind #EnergyPolicy #IRA

Over the past two years, 12 new and retrofit vessels have been launched or are under construction in shipyards across the Gulf region––all with the purpose of advancing offshore wind development in America. Talk about maritime dominance! 💪 🚢 Long known for its shipbuilding and oil & gas expertise, maritime leaders in the Gulf are now applying their workforces and know-how to champion this next chapter of American-made offshore energy. Across Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida, over 200 companies are already active in the national offshore wind supply chain, with hundreds more ready to dive in. The region is a critical industry hub and has received billions in supply chain investments for vessel construction and retrofitting, as well as $610 million to upgrade JSW Steel’s Baytown, Texas steel mill to provide high-quality, American steel to fabricate monopiles. In many cases, the Inflation Reduction Act’s clean energy tax credits have been key to unlocking investments in steel and shipbuilding, but that federal support is now at risk of being lost. We're calling on the Senate to continue improving the IRA bill passed by the House to ensure businesses that are counting on the credits can use them to create local jobs, expand American shipbuilding and manufacturing capacity, and ensure our nation can meet the fast-growing demand for new energy generation. Share this post. Contact your Senator. And help spread the word: We need more vessels to support an offshore wind industry that is shovel-ready and can unlock up to 10 GW of energy by 2030, and the Gulf––and the IRA––are critical to making it happen. #OSWatWork #IRA #Energy

Earlier this week the Senate Finance Committee released its new budget proposal, which threatens to derail the industry's progress made possible by the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) — progress that has already driven $25B in investments, revitalized U.S. manufacturing, and created thousands of jobs across 40 states. If left unchanged, this proposal could: ⚠️ Delay or cancel offshore wind projects ⚠️ Undermine American shipbuilding ⚠️ Disrupt supply chains & raise costs ⚠️ Threaten our energy security We need your voice — now more than ever. ✅ Call your Senator and urge them to defend offshore wind provisions in the IRA heyor.ca/p430D1 ✅ Join Oceantic’s Energy Action Days heyor.ca/FLJNY8 ✅ Use our toolkit to raise awareness heyor.ca/QhAiE9 Let’s protect American jobs and our energy future.

📈 U.S. Offshore Wind Procurement: A State-by-State Look The latest data from the Oceantic Network Market Dashboard reveals a combined 116.8 GW in planning targets and 47.4 GW in mandated targets across 14 U.S. states. This snapshot highlights that despite the evolving policy landscape, state commitment and procurement ambitions are driving the offshore wind market. 🔹 California leads with a 25 GW planning target, signaling long-term floating wind potential. 🔹 New York, New Jersey, and Massachusetts continue to anchor the East Coast market with substantial mandates. 🔹 Emerging players like Louisiana and Oregon are beginning to define their roles in the national buildout. As the U.S. offshore wind industry progresses, understanding the nuances between planning and mandated targets is key for developers, OEMs, and supply chain assessing market entry, business opportunities, and investment timing. 📊 Explore the full dataset and get key insights as an Oceantic member. ⚠️ Our energy future is being decided right now.⚠️ Last week, a powerful House of Representatives committee passed legislation that attacks the Inflation Reduction Act and puts reliable, affordable, American-made energy from offshore wind projects at risk of being lost forever. Now the full House and Senate will debate passage of this proposal over the next few weeks. This industry is shovel-ready and poised to deliver 10 GW to the grid by 2030 –– with 50+ GW more in the queue⚡️. Instead of unleashing this industry to power our economy, federal decisionmakers continue throwing up roadblocks. Passage of the bill as drafted could hobble some of our projects, strand valuable new investments, and delay the acceleration of which our industry is capable. We cannot let this opportunity pass us by. U.S. offshore wind has already yielded over $25 billion in supply chain investments and created tens of thousands of jobs and new opportunities for our American businesses. But if these tax credit rollbacks advance unchecked, we will be trading jobs and investment for soaring energy bills and an unreliable grid. We must get involved, preserve our progress, and save our nation’s energy and manufacturing future. ▶️ Share this post. Call your local representative and senator. Tell them why America needs offshore wind. #OSWatWork #OffshoreWind
