@naolitos Maybe she should just play in Rome and in RG , then do better on grass. From my perspective she improve her clay campaign this year having won a match in Linz and defended her points in Madrid ,and a main draw appearance in Stuttgart.

@ochoa_benedict Yeah it's just that I thought she would try to play as much as possible on clay It's not like she spent a lot of time on court in Madrid + this tournament is very close

@estepbit Nah her game is better suited for hard court than clay , at the Jr level she reach the french open semis, beating Noskova along the way, then winning the french open doubles the following year. On the positive side , she at least defended her points from last year.

I'm also wondering why Alex is this bad in clay despite being in RNA for 8 yrs.....does anyone know her ITF/juniors record? Do they only send her to play in hardcourts coz thats the only thing I can think of lol

For the 3rd straight year Alex Eala wins her r128 match at the Madrid Open defeating for French Open finalist Anastasia Pavyluchenkova in straight sets 6-3,6-3. Her next opponent will be the 19th seed Elisse Mertens of Belgium. Mertens won their previous match in Tunisia in 2023.
