@NoContextTTO Halloween was always my favourite time on Club Penguin, nothing ever compared to it.

Virtual world games during Halloween are always such a visual treat. I love it when they fully overhaul the game's look to fit the holiday.

@pulxpulx I'm wondering if they didn't realise how big this was going to be and didn't plan accordingly. That could explain why it's been so slow, they could've been given a smaller budget/less resources, thinking it'd be less profitable than it has been.

Club Penguin (2005): Ask any Gen-Z what they played growing up, they’ll likely say Club Penguin. This family-friendly MMO boasted 200M+ users at peak. The main server was discontinued in 2017. Most attempts to create private ones have been struck down by Disney. #gamestosave

So I was watching DCs Doom Patrol and noticed this in the episode... I wonder if it's just a coincidence or not...

@coreyacts @_screenhog Honestly, I worry that one day AI will take my place as a Game Designer, while it's not fully there yet, I could see it happening 10 years down the line. But ultimately I try not to dwell on it too much as there's not much I can do if it does happen.

@_screenhog Yeah that’s what I’m not super excited about, being who cares about art and stuff. I think it might be trying to find a uniquely human angle on art that can’t be conjured by ai but if its learning from us then maybe that won’t be an option eventually

Not to be topical but AI feels like the next big shift in society. Like the internet and smartphones, and just like those before it its got some big positives and some soul crushing existential negatives. Buckle up friends, and hopefully I’m wrong.

You ever work on a project that you want to tell everyone about, but just can't until the proper time? A lot of 2022 was spent working on a game with a small team. It's unlike anything I've worked on before. I can't wait to tell you about it. (But I kinda have to.)

@redkeytar It depends what you mean by IP, are we talking about Club Penguin's content specifically? If that's the case then both are as important as each other. You can't have the community without the content and the content wouldn't be nearly as good without the community. (1/2)

@chrisheatherly @TheTurboCP I'd love to see that, the possibilities are limitless. When working on CPRewritten I always found that Flash was bogging down what we could do, but when we were planning to move to a new client, I had so many new things planned just because those restrictions were gone.
