Drake is the most protected rapper of all time. He has gotten away with mediocre music/raps for over a decade and his fans treat every bloated album like a classic before the first listen is over. Any other rapper would have been called washed years ago. Drake turned quantity into a substitute for quality and convinced an entire generation that playlist filler is artistic growth. If another rapper released the same repetitive songs about exes, enemies and fake friends, they would be laughed off the internet. Commercial success has insulated Drake from the criticism that every other artist would face. His music is the definition of stagnation

I was clamoring for us to have a fire sale, & pushing trading holmes while he was red hot like a month ago, now he had a fractured fibula, & has pretty much no trade value, & can opt out after this season. The jokes write themselves. 😭

He banked on keeping up with the younger audience, & pandering to them, & the problem with that is the younger audiences attention span is zero. They’re looking for the new flavor of the month every week. He’s pretty much pushed his OG audience away for teenagers at 40 years old.

Okay I finally got through all of the albums 'Habibti' is the singing album for the ladies. Not for me, but I'm sure someone will like it. 'Maid of Honour' is 'Honestly Nevermind Part 2'. 'Cheetah Print' and 'True Bestie' are most likely going to be the standouts. 'Iceman' is the tough guy/diss album. He's rapping, which I enjoy, but it's too much rehashing old stuff from the beef. Production is on fire though! Overall I will only be coming back to Iceman and that's it. There will be something for everyone, but you have to ask yourself are these timeless classics, or just some stuff to get out of his deal with UMG and go indie? The stans will continue to bring up numbers like anyone gives af, but the music is not showing Drake has matured AT ALL. Idk if he's still waiting until he's on his own to finally put out something meaningful, or if this is just him for the rest of his career? I would love to see some growth, but the man is clearly still hurt after what happened 2 years ago.
