Happy World Teacher’s Day to all of the wonderful educators who continue to touch the lives and hearts of so many every single day🍎✏️🫶🏻

Today we listened, learned and reflected as a community to ensure we honour the journey towards truth and reconciliation. We move forward by taking action and remembering every child matters today and always. 🧡🪶

This is us in grade 5/6🫶🏻 Tonight families got to take a look at our classroom and explore all of the wonderful things we have been up to! It has been a great start to the year.

It was so fun to be back in the STREAM Centre with my grade 1 friends! We spent the day designing a balanced community that turned into a video game for students to play.

One of my little elves has been working on developing Christmas vocabulary and today we spent some time thinking about what it would be like to be an elf. He said he would keep an eye on all the kids for Santa👀🎅🏽

Today at HJE, students used clay to create as many 3D solids as possible for their Christmas scene.🎄Students enjoyed building the shapes and naming/classifying them according to different attributes. #grade1issofun

We kicked off Bullying Awareness and Prevention week at SDD by creating an anti-bullying pledge. Students agreed to report what they see and hear in the classroom, online and outside. 🫱🏽‍🫲🏾

Happy World Kindness Day!

Today is World Kindness Day. Acts of kindness, whether large or small, can make a difference in friendships, families, communities & the world. Today we are invited to consider how God calls each one of us to be kind & compassionate to each other as members of God’s loving family

I love being a part of Mindful Mondays in SDD’s grade 8 class! This morning students talked about kindness and what it means to be a good friend as an intermediate student. Then in small groups, they used a Micro:bit to code positive messages and symbols.

It was such a great morning learning alongside my colleagues at the @YCDSB Hearing Awareness Inservice. What a great opportunity to understand what the classroom is like for so many of our deaf and hard of hearing students.

Today is World Mental Health day! Having conversations about our mental health is important but we don’t always know what to say ….

Today is World Mental Health Day. This year’s theme is: “Mental Health is a Universal Right.” On this day all are encouraged to reflect on positive ways we take care of our own mental health and how we can provide support to others too.

Grateful for another wonderful start to the school year, working in so many new school communities. Happy Thanksgiving to all🧡🦃🍂🌻

October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month, which aims to increase public awareness of the positive impact that people with disabilities have in the workforce. It is a time to recognize the many contributions citizens with disabilities make to society.

PAH! is a free #mentalhealth service for #Deaf and #hardofhearing children and their families. They are offering a #FREE workshop online about understanding a child's emotional needs. It will happen Wednesday nights at 6:30pm starting October 18th. Email vbickle@bobrumball.org.
